E. S. Blanchard fonds

The fonds consists of 160 project files of architectural drawings which may also include blueprints, specifications, correspondence, tenders, photographs, contracts, agreements, and working notes. Coverage from file to file varies widely. The drawings themselves may include site plans, floor plans, elevations, property plans, yard plans, and details plans. Most of the blueprints replicate original drawings and many files contain preliminary sketches as well as the completed drawings. Some elevations are in watercolour. The largest portion of the fonds is residential buildings, whether new homes or apartments, or renovations of same. The fonds has been arranged into the following four series:

Series2: Public buildings
Series3: Commercial buildings
Series4: Miscellaneous

Senator Heath MacQuarrie fonds

This fonds consists of scripts from Senator Heath MacQuarrie's weekly radio program, "The Week-End Review" which ran between 1952 and 1955, perhaps longer. The show was very political in nature and focused largely on world events, particularly Canadian, American, and British politics as well as the Korean and Cold Wars. Many of the scripts are dated and show corrections and additions which were probably made by Heath himself. The scripts are dated 1952 to 1955.

Charlottetown Battery Garrison Artillery fonds : [1861-1887]

This fonds consists of an account book containing the records of the Charlottetown Battery Garrision Artillery. It includes: accounts for 1881 to 1887 listed by individual's names; "Notes of events and matters connected with the history of No 1 Battery P.E. Isld. Pro. Par. Gar. Art. Late No.2 Ch'town Batty. Garrison Art. Late Ch'town Volunteer Artillery and Rifle Corps" 1859-1885; Nominal Rolls of non-commissioned officers and men from 1861-1870; Officers Rolls of 1861 and 1875; undated listing of cash paid to individuals; No. 2 Battery Garrison Artillery accounts with the Militia Dept. and Brigade Stores for clothing and infantry equipment 1881-1887; and an undated list of individuals possessing rifles and accoutrements.

James and Andrew Duncan fonds : [1852-1874]

This fonds consists of 2 volumes: a James Duncan and Company order book for the years 1864 to 1874 and a ledger of Andrew Duncan's for 1852 to 1862.

The James and Company order book is primarily a listing of materials and parts for the manufacture or repair of ships. There are also listings of clients (some based in Britain) and goods to be delivered to them. The volume closes with a fourteen page list of vessels built in the years 1874 to 1864 and includes the particulars of each ship (such as date launched, measurements, value).

The Andrew Duncan ledger contains accounts organized by the client's name, accounts for the vessels "Ethel" and "Isabel", and chronological listings of transactions.

Mrs. Harold Stewart collection

This collection consists of copy prints of 4 photographs of Margaret Furness MacLeod and a contact sheet of the negatives for items 1 to 3. Margaret Furness MacLeod, originally of Vernon Bridge, Prince Edward Island, was a poet, musician, and preserver of heritage. She was a founding member of the Prince Edward Island Museum and Heritage Foundation. She died in Montreal, Quebec, in 1977.

Owen family fonds

The fonds consists of personal, official, and business correspondence and other papers of three generations of the Owen family, namely Thomas, Lemuel Cambridge, and William E. These include records of enterprises in which these gentlemen were involved including the postal service, various banks, and steamship companies as well as papers from Lemuel Cambridge Owen's time in political office. The largest portion of the fonds is comprised of the business correspondence and other papers of the firm of Welsh and Owen of Charlottetown. There are also a few documents which relate to Samuel Holland and to the Cambridge family as well as some miscellaneous material and memorabilia.

Item lists, primarily in chronological order were prepared for this collection when it was first received and the order does not fall completely within the parameters of the series identified for description. However, listings of item numbers contained within each series are included in the series descriptions. The fonds is comprised of the following nine series:

Alexandra Lodge #5, A.F. & A.M. fonds : [1864-1978]

This fonds consists of two microfilm copies of minute books of the Alexandra Lodge. The minute books date from 1864 to 1978 and contain communications of meetings, names of members, officers, and visitors, and payments and bills. The second minute book also records the number of people at each meeting.

Dr. John C. McKeown fonds : [1830-1883]

This fonds consists of one account book, spanning the years 1830 to 1883, which lists: the services purchased by clients; medicines sold to individuals; goods purchased by Dr. McKeown; and lists of births attended (listed by date, father's name, gender of baby, and fee charged). A couple of pages from the Church of Scotland Monthly Record are also adhered to the pages of the account book.

St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church fonds : [1865-1985]

The fonds consists of a baptismal, marriage and death register of St. Michael's Church recording these events from 1865 to 1986. Confirmations are also recorded from 1891-1984. There are also indexes to, and separate volumes of transcripts of the baptisms, marriages and deaths.

Because access to records recorded after 1900 is restricted by the Diocese, a break in the filming of the registers was made in 1895 and records after that date appear on Reel 2 although all indexes appear on Reel 1.

South Milton Women's Institute fonds

This fonds consists of 9 volumes of record books of the South Milton Women's Institute. The first four volumes contain regular and annual meeting minutes, accounts, and executive and membership lists for the years 1936 to 1957. Volumes six and seven contain meeting minutes and volumes eight and nine are the Treasurer's books which record the accounts and membership payment information. In addition, there is a file of loose annual reports for the years 1958-1985 (except 1959, 1963, 1967 and 1968) which summarize the accounts and list the members.
