This single collected item consists of lottery ticket for a "Map of P. E. Island To be drawn for on the 2nd of Feb. 1864." The ticket is made out to a Mr. Angus Andrew Walker of Grand River, Lot 55. The creator of this item is unknown. The ticket indicates that a Patrick Morrison was the manager of the unidentified company or organization which sponsored the lottery.

The collection consists of 59 negatives of scenes in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, including the fire at St. Dunstan's Cathedral, 1913, a parade on Kent, Queen and Grafton Streets, and Falconwood Hospital. There are several farm scenes, images of people in carriages, and photographs of a train wreck. More than half the negatives are unprinted containing images of unidentified persons and places.

This fonds consists of a photo album containing approximately eighty pages of mounted black and white photographs which appear to have been taken during the 1950s and 1960s. Inserts include twenty-five photographs, one negative, seven contact sheets, and several pages of "National Film Board Cut Lines". Some of the photographs, which range in size from 2" x 2 1/2" to 8" x 11", are accompanied by descriptive captions. The photographs in the album are divided to various categories including: Agriculture, Beaches, Camping, Churches, Ferries, Fishing, Golf, Green Gables, Government House, Horse Racing, Highland Games, Lighthouses, Lobster Fishing, Monuments, Provincial Building, Scenes (Highway and Rural), Tourist Establishments, Park Playgrounds, Fishing Wharves, Rustico, and Swimming Pools. The final section of the album, consisting of approximately forty pages, is entitled "Contacts for Pictures Taken During Summer 1960, Photographer, David Forbert." The inserted twenty-five photographs include scenes of winter horse racing, fox farming, Richmond Street, the Maritime Central Airways, interiors of a passenger ferry boat, aerial views of the Provincial Buildings, and the Albany Travel Bureau.

The provenance of this album is unknown. It is suspected, however, that the album was compiled for use by the Department of Tourist Development in Prince Edward Island. Prior to 1940, the Prince Edward Island Travel Bureau existed more or less as a voluntary organization financed by public subscriptions and a grant from the PEI Government. On 2 January 1940, the Travel Bureau was taken over and operated as a Department of the Provincial Government. In the 1950s the Department name was changed to the Tourist and Information Bureau and in 1960 changed to the Department of Tourist Development. It would appear that the National Film Board was also involved in producing photographs for provincial tourist promotion for many years prior to the 1960s.

This fonds consists of two unidentified day books which record sales of general merchandise to customers from the West Prince area of Prince Edward Island including Kildare, Western Road, Miminegash, Cascumpec, Nail Pond, Lot 6, Lot 10, and Lot 7. Transactions include the date, the customer's name and community or Lot, merchandise bought, and amount owed. Three pages of inlaid text refer to Mr. James Dempsey in account with the estate of the late James Yeo.

Albert Edward, Prince of Wales, son of Queen Victoria, and future King Edward VII toured North America in 1860. Following a stop in Halifax, His Royal Highness visited Prince Edward Island on 9-11 August. On 10 August there was a levee and an afternoon party held in his honour at Government House. The fonds consists of four images taken at the time of the visit of the Prince of Wales to Halifax and Charlottetown. Two were taken of an event held on the lawns at Government House in honour of the Prince of Wales, most likely an afternoon party on the 10th as rain precluded outdoor activity on the 9th. A third image of a group of military men and gentlemen outside unidentified premises may also be in Charlottetown. A fifth image is one of Micmacs seated in front of their wigwams. Mounting papers, since discarded, read W. Chase's Photographic Gallery, 51 Hollis St., Halifax.

The fonds contains an accounts ledger, inscribed "Ledger D" which records the legal work done and the charges made for the lawyer's clients, most of whom are identified as living in Kings County communities.

This fonds consists of a map and the accompanying Remarks relative to the sketch of St. Johns... which were prepared by an officer who had "run over " the Island in 1762 in a whale boat with a French pilot and thirty men by order of the "General" (possibly Hardwicke). The survey concentrated on the sites of the former French settlements and their prospects for settlement by the English. It remarked positively concerning the rich meadows and cleared lands and based future prosperity on agriculture and fishing. The map is also accompanied by a 3p. typed transcript of the Remarks, prepared by the donor.

The author of the map and remarks is anonymous.

These photographs are copy prints of two images of the parlour of Goodwill House, a house located on Goodwill Avenue in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. In one image, a woman is engaged in needlework in the parlour. There are two copies of this image. In the other image, a young man sits in the parlour. The photographer who made these copy prints may have been Vera Beck, a member of the Charlottetown Camera Club.

The collection consists of one photograph ca.1958 of the Montague High School in Montague, Prince Edward Island. The photographer is unknown.

This photograph [ca. 1910] depicts an unidentified procession along the water at Victoria Park in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. Some of the men in the procession are wearing tartan sashes and tams, others top hats. The three men leading the procession are carrying bagpipes, and musical instruments can be seen further back in the crowd. A number of people appear to be walking alongside, but slightly apart from, the actual procession.
