Writings

Series consists of seven books of published material by Rev. Dr. William J. Armitage, Rev. William Cogswell, Rev. Dr. Samuel Henry Prince, and Rev. Dyson Hague.

Correspondence and letterheads

Series forms part of Garth M. Hosking General Store fonds and consists of correspondence related to the Store, including a letter from a customer to Mildred Hosking, and a letter to Garth Hosking from the Employment Insurance Commission. Series also includes sets of blank letterheads and invoices in W.M.O. Mitchells name from the 1910s. Also included in the series is a 1941 license to sell gasoline issued to W.M.O. Mitchell. Series also includes blank letterheads from Hoskings Garage. In addition, series includes a 1904 list of voters from the number 27 polling district of Halifax County.

Inventories

Series consists of inventories of the Societys records and other holdings created by Society members, including Greg LeBlancs 2003 inventory, a list of oral history interview tapes by Society member and researcher Lena Ferguson, and a list of supplements to genealogies published by Society member Msgr. F. J. Melanson. Series also contains an e-mail printout and some notes relating to the donation of the fonds to the Eastern Shore Archives.

Publications

Series forms part of Donald Angus and Elizabeth Beaton fonds and consists of one music instrument catalogue from 1977 and one published sketch book Collection 20 published in 1971.

Cemetaries

Series forms part of Corporation of St. Paul's Church fonds and consists of grant and map of Old Burying Ground, financial documents, perpetual care records, documentation of the Old Burying Ground summer guide program, vestry minutes, and correspondence.

Naval Technical History Project Material

Series consists of material supporting the Canadian Naval Technical History Association's (CNTHA) Naval Technical History Project in regards to the technical advances made by the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) in the years following the Second World War. Includes books, articles, papers, booklets, notes and various other documents covering a wide variety of subjects, including shipbuilding, ship repairing, Canadian patrol frigates, engineering, helicopters, hydrofoils, sonar, history, organization, personnel, submarines, training and weapons. Arranged in alphabetical order by subject code and then by author/corporate name. Also includes 1 subseries:

Registres des jugements rendus par le juge Boily

La série contient les jugements prononcés par le juge Boily à la Cour supérieure du district judiciaire de Saint-François entre 1983-2014. La série contient également un index alphabétique des jugements rendus (1983-2014). Les registres de jugements permettent de dégager des modes dans le traitement de causes judiciaires au civil (ex. : bien que l’intérêt des enfants ait toujours prévalu dans les décisions, le juge remarque une évolution dans la mentalité à l’égard du droit de garde des enfants : dans les années 1980, le droit allait quasi automatiquement à la mère alors qu’aujourd’hui, la garde partagée est plutôt favorisée. Il n’est pas rare de voir des pères «gagner» le droit de garde, ce qui était pratiquement exclus il y a 30 ans). Par conséquent, la valeur de témoignage d’une évolution sociétale est très présente. Certes, le ministère de la Justice nous verse presque tous les jugements produits par les cours de justice au Québec, tout juge confondu. Cependant, la série du juge Boily a l’avantage de permettre l’étude des éléments qui peuvent influencer les décisions d’un seul et même juge (courants, autres causes, valeurs de la société) ou encore de comprendre comment se pratique le droit de haut niveau à travers le regard d’un seul juge, pendant toute une carrière
