The fonds consists of personal papers and correspondence of William Kirkland, press clippings related to power plants in Edmonton and documents related to W. Kirkland's membership in the Rotary Club; it also includes 1 photograph of the Alberta Power Commission dated ca. 1970.

Fonds consists of copied photographs, dating from 1912 to ca. 1920, of Hillcrest Collieries and the mine disaster, which depict miners, equipment, a tipple, horses, buildings, the No. 1 mine tunnel, a funeral procession, a rescue team, and a cemetery. Fonds also includes a list of captions for the photographs, and the 1974 issue of the Ukrainian Canadian Professional and Business Federation <em>Review</em>, which contains an account by Yuriy Frolak of his experience during the mine disaster at Hillcrest Collieries.
