This fonds consists of the Debates and Proceedings of the Legislative Council, from 1867-1893. Although not precisely verbatim, these are comprehensive in content and provide a good representation of the discussions which took place in the upper chamber of the House over the various pieces of legislation which were presented.

Peter Magowan letter

This collection consists of a duplicate copy of a letter dated l5 April 1807 from Peter Magowan to John Stewart. The letter contains information on political activities on Prince Edward Island including the meeting of the assembly, the formation of the Society of Loyal Electors, the establishment of a Court of Quarter Sessions and proceedings before the Supreme Court including the irregular admission of lawyers.

This fonds contains the papers of Premiers Donald Farquharson, Arthur Peters, F. L. Haszard, H. James Palmer, John A. Mathieson, Aubin A. Arsenault, J. H. Bell, James D. Stewart, Albert C. Saunders, Walter M. Lea, W. J. P. MacMillan, Thane A. Campbell, J. Walter Jones, Alex W. Matheson, and Alex B. Campbell. The papers consist primarily of correspondence, both incoming and outgoing, arranged variously- chronologically, alphabetically, or by subject; any existing order was maintained. Most of the correspondence is professional although there is some personal material as well, particularly in the Farquharson and Alex B. Campbell material. There are also reports and memoranda scattered throughout. The correspondence documents the daily concerns which were brought to the attention of a premier: transportation, the availability of medical and social services for individuals in need, legal issues, military matters, immigration, employment or reference requests, and policy or electoral issues. In the cases of premiers who also served as the Attorney General there may also correspondence addressed to them in that capacity.

Provincial Treasurer fonds

This fonds consists of the administrative and financial records of the office of the Provincial Treasurer spanning the years 1775 to 1981. The Treasurer was required to keep a set of books in which the accounts of each government office were to be "duly entered, kept, and balanced." Originally, these records were to be presented to the Lieutenant Governor in Council for his inspection at quarterly intervals and upon retirement or removal from office, the books were to be handed on to the Treasurer's successor. Later, the books were examined by the Provincial Auditor. Included among these records are correspondence, journals, day books, various types of ledgers, warrant books, pay lists, bond books, Public Accounts, land assessment rolls, school district boundaries, and records of the office of the Deputy Provincial Treasurer. Rogers family fonds

The fonds contains a letter (29 December 1904) from Benjamin Rogers to his son Heber in which he talks mainly about about the federal (November 3) and provincial (December 7) election campaigns of 1904, and two letters from Reginal Heber Rogers to his son Benjamin in 1935. The latter discuss world affairs including the League of Nations, the provincial government of Walter M. Lea, the combining of the House of Assembly and the Legislative Council into one body, and provincial legislation regarding appeals to the Privy Council. Letters also touch briefly on family affairs.

Senator Elsie Inman fonds

This fonds consists of the personal and political papers of Senator Elsie Inman spanning the years 1942-1986. The papers have separated naturally into the following series and have been arranged chronologically within each series: Speeches; Correspondence; Clubs & Associations; International Organizations; Senate Committees; Subject files on miscellaneous issues; Subject files re. P.E.l.; Newspapers and newspaper clippings; Photographs; and Papers of G. S. Inman & Miscellaneous historical items. The latter series spans the time period 1881-1935 with a few items dated between 1813 and 1874. A small amount of correspondence has been kept separate and access restrictions have been placed on it by the depositor.

Senator Orville H. Phillips fonds

This fonds consists of the papers created by Senator Orville Phillips during his 36 years in the Senate although they are heavily weighted to the last decade as many were destroyed by fire and during an office move. They came from at least two different offices and there is some overlap in the subject content of the various series of papers which have been arranged in accordance with the filing system in place in the Senator's office with the exception of briefing books which have been removed from binders and incorporated into the appropriate series. The papers comprise the following eight series: Administrative files; Policy files; Whip's files; Veterans Affairs general files; Senate Subcommittee on Veterans Affairs; Constituency files; Progressive Conservative Party files; Audiotapes.
