The fonds consists of records relating to Mortimer's teaching qualifications and experience in special education, including: education and professional certificates; appointment letter; teacher evaluation reports; reports authored by Mortimer on the role of learning assistance teachers and on implementation of a special needs program at Mount Benson School; a sample completed psychological test paper (Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children); and correspondence relating to Mortimer's special education teaching methodology. Fonds includes photographs of Mortimer and students at Christopher Robin School and Mount Benson School.

Fonds consists of personal records of the Aitken family and material related to the employment of Thomas and Isaac Aitken. Includes correspondence to Thomas Aitken related to compensation and pension payments; invoices and receipts for the funeral and burial of Mary A. Greenwell and John B.Greenwell; information circulars from the Workmen's Compensation Board, the Unemployment Insurance Commission and the New Vancouver Coal Mining and Land Company; Thomas Aitken's Sick and Accident fund passbook from the Western Fuel Corporation; Certificates of Competency for Thomas and Isaac Aitken; copies of the Constitution of the International Union of the United Mine Worker's of America, the Wage Agreement between Canadian Collieries and UMWA, District No. 18 and a copy of the I.C.S. Coal Miner's Handbook; a handbill for a union meeting, a medical certificate for Isaac; and a small notebook that records cheques sent and received and various other items. Also included are the eye glasses and cases of Thomas and Mary Aitken.

Some of the records pertain specifically to the Nanaimo club, some relate to activities of the B.C. regional division and some to national activities. Includes membership records; correspondence; event programs and schedules; information; rules and regulations and forms for rallies; the Prince Philip Games; as well as individual test/scoring results. The collection consists of 91 volumes of log books of North Pacific sealing vessels detailing crews, seals taken and hunting area; 9 volumes of Entrance and Clearance logs for Burrard Inlet, Nanaimo and Victoria (1872-1889), and other assorted records relating to maritime activities.
