Exhibits

This series contains the finished products of the hard work that went into creating educational and exciting exhibits. There were three major parts to the exhibit that was created for the Packers on the Trail project; virtual, museum, and educational. All these helped to explain and highlight the cowboys essential role in the Bedaux 1934 expedition. Rosaleen Boardman, Ross Peck, and Jay Sherwood were instrumental in the creation of these exhibits. This series is arranged into three sub-series: Virtual, Museum, and Education.

Events

This series contains the overall view of the social events that accompanied the creation of the Packers on the Trail project. Most of these events are annual, but during 2009 were Bedaux expedition themed to highlight the project. A large number of photos were taken to document these events including the launch of Bannock & Beans. Jay Sherwood, Vancouver author, and the relatives and friends of the Bedaux cowboys are showcased throughout. This series is arranged into two sub-series: Reunion, and Harvest social.

Development

This series consists of the developmental stages of the Packers on the Trail project undertaken by Jay Sherwood and Ross Peck, who are avid and valued researchers for the Hudson's Hope Museum. This series also includes documents detailing the promotion and awards that were created and presented for this project. This series is arranged into four sub-series: Funding, Jay Sherwood Research, Committee Meetings, and Promotion.

Donor material

The Packers on the Trail project owes part of its success to the generous donations. Both photographs and stories were donated to the Hudson’s Hope Museum to help bring life to the artifacts and textual material that made up the exhibit. The contribution of anecdotes from those involved or connected to the Bedaux expedition are key to really experiencing the cowboys journey through story. The photographs donated by Madeline Carlson and Norm Busche helped to show the social life as well as the outside view of the expedition and the members. This series is arranged into two sub-series: Interviews, and Photographs.
