Associated Country Women of the World fonds

The fonds consist of items accumulated and saved by Mrs. J. T. (Ethel) Morrisroe that give details of her involvement in various Women's Institutes in Central Alberta, including the Alberta Women's Institute, Federated Women's Institute and Associated Country Women of the World organizations. Ethel Morrisroe was Vice-President of the Alberta Women's Institute in 1969 -- 1973 and President from 1973 - 1975. The fonds include handbooks and conference booklets the Women's Institute organizations, personal artifacts, including anniversary cards and invitations, personal notes, parts of a scrapbook, and blank Women's Institute cards, and a large assortment of photographs, newspaper clippings and a history book.

Fonds consists of correspondence of Irene Parlby (1899-1966); Beatrice (Bee) Parlby (ca. 1920-1989); Walter Parlby (1872-1945); and Humphrey Parlby (1909-1965). Included are Bee Parlby's diaries (1930-1986); the journal's of Humphrey Parlby (1927-1932), as well as financial records for both Walter and Irene, and Humphrey and Bee Parlby. There is a significant amount of Farmers' Union of Alberta and Farm Women's Union of Alberta records (1940-1970); as well as material used by Bee Parlby in her various teaching positions (ca. 1945-1970); articles, talks, and speeches given by Irene Parlby (1930-1956), and assorted newspaper clippings (ca. 1899-1985). Included also is Irene Parlby's honorary Doctorate of Laws degree she received from the University of Alberta in 1935, and material regarding Bee Parlby's induction to the Alberta Agricultural Hall of Fame in 1987.
