Jerry Burianyk fonds

This fonds consists of records created, accumulated and used from 1934 to 1964 by Jerry Burianyk of Vancouver, British Columbia. The records relate mainly to Burianyk's twenty-seven year career with the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF).

The records include correspondence written by Burianyk to his fiancé and wife, Betty Bates (1940-1943, 1945); photocopies of transcripts of correspondence written by Burianyk to Betty Burianyk while he was stationed overseas (1944-1945); and correspondence written by Burianyk to Marj and Gord Malcolm of Hollyburn and West Vancouver, British Columbia (1944-1945).

The fonds also includes poetry; newsletters (The Swamp Breeze, March 14, 1944; The Slipstream, December 1941 issue and pages from April 1941 and 1942 issues; and The Messenger, June-July 1959); Burianyk's service history (1938-1945); and a scrapbook compiled by Burianyk which contains correspondence from the Department of National Defence; two photographs; newspaper clippings; telegrams; a citation; invitations; foreign currency and postcards. The scrapbook contains some personal items, including a copy of Burianyk's Saskatchewan teaching certificate; a pencil sketch of a child titled "Donia"; and telegrams and newspaper clippings regarding his children.

The Leader-Post fonds

This fonds consists of records created, accumulated and used by owners, publishers and employees of The Regina Leader and its successors in Regina, North West Territories (later Saskatchewan) between 1883 to 2002.

The fonds includes bound volumes and microfilm reels of The Regina Leader, The Morning Leader, and The Leader-Post and newspapers acquired by the owners of these, including The West, The Daily Province, The Regina Standard, The Evening Province and Standard and The Regina Daily Post. A collection of special publications from these newspapers is also included in the fonds, as well as microfilm copies of The Regina Sun and The Regina Sun Community News publications.

Also included in the fonds are photographic negatives created by staff photographers of The Leader-Post from 1939 to 1964. The negatives represent a variety of subject matters of local and provincial significance including personalities, sports, government functions, political events, public ceremonies, business and industry, exhibitions, competitions, buildings, institutions, disasters, scenery, as well as corporate activities of The Leader-Post Limited.

Maps, additional photographs, newspaper clippings and pamphlets, a photocopy of Classified Business Directory, 1921, correspondence to the editors of The Regina Leader and The Regina Leader-Post, zinc etchings, plastic engravings and papier maché mats of buildings and prominent citizens of Saskatchewan are also included in the fonds.

J.A. Darling fonds

This fonds consists of records created, accumulated and used from 1945 to 1955 by James Andrew Darling in his political career as Minister of Public Works and Minister-in-charge of Saskatchewan Power Corporation.

The Public Works records date from 1948 to 1955 and include correspondence and memoranda relating mainly to the construction, furnishing, occupancy, sale and maintenance of government buildings; labour and employment issues; service contracts and government travel issues. There are a number of letters dealing with the issue of hiring displaced persons to work on the construction of government buildings, along with correspondence from individuals requesting employment.

The Saskatchewan Power Corporation records date from 1945 to 1955 and consist of minutes, financial statements, balance sheets, and profit and loss statements.

This fonds consists of records created, accumulated and used by Margaret (Fiji) Robinson in her career as a vocalist and performer in the musical revues The Quinlan Sisters (comprised of Robinson, Peter McGehee and Wendy Coad) between 1981 and 1984, and The Fabulous Sirs (Robinson and McGehee) between 1987 and 1990 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and Toronto, Ontario.

It also includes records created, accumulated and used by Robinson between 1990 and 2007 in the development of a book proposal and subsequent film proposal on her career as a performance artist working with writer/director Peter McGehee. Research and notes for the online GLBTQ On-Line Encyclopedia entry for McGehee's life partner, human rights activist Douglas Wilson, are also included.
