Andrew Porubsky fonds

The fonds consists of a photograph album depicting Andrew Porubsky's unit participating in the construction of the Alaska Highway. Images include fellow military personnel (some are identified by first name), highway construction and equipment, scenic views, a view inside a tent, outdoor shower facilities, a memorial cairn to Lt. R.R. Small, bridge construction on the Slims and Donjek rivers in the Yukon, a music band, an Alaska Highway Kluane sign, cabins, a possible freighter canoe, and a mine entrance. Also included are images from his training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and of his family in Ohio.

The fonds consists of copies of photographs taken by Dr. Grant, ca. 1898-1909, during his service in Dawson City. Views include Dawson City, Moosehide, the manse and church of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, the Good Samaritan Hospital, visiting the mines, and residents of Dawson City. There is also a folder of copies of newspaper clippings about the work of Dr. Grant in the Yukon.

The fonds consists of images of Atlin, Dawson City, a pack train, men posing with hunting trophies (Dall sheep, bear, antlers, and skins), freighting supplies by canoe down the White River, cabins, a Hotel Occidental car filled with passengers, the sternwheeler Yukon and scenes with individuals. Some photographs have captions.

The fonds consists of MLA correspondence primarily dealing with constituents concerns and MLA responsibilities; letters and messages to his constituents; newspaper articles, written by Andy Philipsen, "Conservative Comment", a regular feature of the Yukon News; and a Christmas card and two certificates. The photographs include scenes from a conference in Ontario and a portrait of Mr. Philipsen.

Angela Wheelock fonds

The fonds consists of ten sound cassettes of interviews conducted by Angela Wheelock of individuals involved in or affected by the construction of the Alaska Highway in northern British Columbia and the Yukon. The individuals interviewed were Mida Donnessey, Alfred Jakestu, John Dickson, William Pathman, Bessie Johns, Inez Shulist and Gudrun Sparling. The interviews were done for research on the Alaska Highway. Wheelock received Canada Council funding for the project.

The fonds consists of 211 copy prints of Anglican missionaries and activities in the Yukon communities of Champagne, Carcross, Herschel Island, Forty Mile, Moosehide, Teslin, Conrad City, Little Salmon and Mayo, and the Northwest Territories communities of Fort McPherson and Aklavik. Many individuals are identified and include ministers and their families and local residents of the communities. The photographs are part of the Stringer and Bowen collections held by the Anglican Church of Canada, General Synod Archives in Toronto.

The fonds consists primarily of the administrative and operational textual records of the Anglican Church, Diocese of Yukon. The fonds also includes photographs, maps and plans, a film and a sound recording. The fonds has been organized into the following six series: Diocesan Records; Parish Records; Related Organizations; Reference Files; Maps and Publications; and Photographs. (See the finding aid for detailed descriptions.) The following six accessions are not in the finding aid. Accession 80/129 contains 22 images of the Old Log Church, scenes at Carcross, the visit of Princess Alexandra to Whitehorse, Sourdough Rendezvous, and old buildings in Whitehorse. Accession 81/16 contains financial records, correspondence, meeting minutes, and annual reports of St. Paul's Anglican Church in Dawson City. There are also papers of various organizations within the church including the Sunday school, Women's Auxiliary, Chancel Guild, and Boys' League. Also in this accession are some records of St. Andrew's United Church in Dawson City, St. Barnabas Church in Moosehide, Church of Christ the Pioneer in Bear Creek, and the Good Samaritan Hospital of Dawson City. Accession 82/6 contains two booklets titled "The Consecration of Rev. Ronald Curry Ferris to be Bishop in the Church of God", Diocese of Yukon, Quinquagesima, 1981 and "The Installation of the Rt. Rev Ronald Curry Ferris as Ninth Bishop of Yukon in Christ Church Cathedral", Whitehorse, Y.T., Diocese of Yukon, Quinquagesima, 1981. Accession 84/72 contains a handmade Christmas card consisting of a pen and ink drawing of St. Paul's Anglican log church in Dawson City, a b&w photograph of the 1902 St. Paul's frame building, a brief hand-lettered history of St. Paul's Church by James R.H. Warren. There are also four b&w photographs of the card as described above. Accession 88/24 contains a six paged typed manuscript by Bishop Tom Greenwood of his recollections about his ministry in the Yukon. There are also 38 b&w and 9 colour images of the Greenwoods, various Anglican Church workers, Chooutla School staff, Old Crow parishioners, Camp Gikhychon, congregation at Minto, McCabe, and the refinery at Haines Junction. Accession 88/128 contains St. Paul's Hostel Matron's book and the Minute book of the Diocesan Board of the Anglican Church Women's Auxiliary, Diocese of Yukon.

Ann and George Esterer fonds

The fonds consists of photographs selected from Ann and George Esterer's scrapbook of Keno City. The photographs include scenes of schools, Christmas and Halloween festivities, members of the community, mining activities, weddings and views of Keno City, taken between 1952 and 1957. Other photographs were taken upon the Esterer's return to Keno City in 1992. The fonds also includes photocopies of the scrapbook and a written introduction by George and Ann Esterer.
