The fonds consists of a 1989 brochure of the proposed plant with a "process flow pictorial"; a 1990 Alberta Forestry, Lands and Wildlife brochure of programs and initiatives; AL-PAC pamphlets about the plant, the process and employment opportunites; AL-PAC Environmental Impact Assessment Review Board public hearing procedures and documents; curriculum vitae for 18 expert witnesses and advisors for the review board; and 1997, 1998 AL-PAC Research Inventory with maps and Annual Operating Plan. A videocassette was filmed in Oct. 1989 when Dr.Robert Dykes of Prince George, B.C. spoke on the health issues connected to pulp mills. The 1993 videocassette is AL-PAC Progress Report #3.

The fonds consists of materials created or collected by the United Grain Growers Athabasca Local #135 between 1917 and 1996. The fonds consists of a minute book covering the period 1917 to 1996 and a 1990 UGG position paper entitled <i>Vision 2000: The Future Direction of the Grain Handling and Transportation System. Also included are :"History of the United Grain Growers' Local #135" which includes a list of UGG grain managers in Athabasca, Colinton and Perryvale.

Anton Joseph Schinkinger fonds

The fonds consists of photographs of: Athabasca & District Board of Trade sign near Westlock (1948), Nick Evasiuk, pier on Tawatinaw Creek (1950s), Bob, Colin and Vince Preece; Anton (Tony) and Kurt Schinkinger, the first store and its replacement store built in 1975, Valentine (Val) Breckenridge, Riverside Recreation Area sign, 1971 parade photo and the Steve Berezan family. Tony wrote an article entitled "Reflections of the old swimming hole" and an article about his time in the navy. The artifacts are a postal scale, two photographs framed with an article from the Athabasca Echo newspaper of Aug.25, 1982 regarding the family business, and a plaque commemorating the closing of Schinkinger's Mens Wear in Feb. 1992.

The fonds consists of a brief history of Gullick and Christina Svenson, including their marriage license and a 1920 Minnesota census record; a brief history of Oscar Swenson written by his grandson, Dan Newland; fourteen photographs of the Svenson family, hunters on trips, the ferry, Imperial Bank of Canada, the Filteau Block, the burning of the first Hudson's Bay Co. store and the Svenson Taxidermy shop on Coles Street.

The fonds consists of 28 photographs collected by Don Stephenson of a [1927] Edmonton-Athabasca-Peace River Highway motor tour; pictures of Athabasca buildings; and the 1944 flood. The Athabasca buildings include: All Saints Anglican Church, Imperial Bank of Canada, Grand Union Hotel, Municipal Hospital, Public School, and views of Skinner Street and Wood Avenue, Baptiste Lake, ferry, cable cage and grain elevators.

Speers family fonds

The fonds consists of Elizabeth Speers ration coupon book from WWII, the program for the 4th Annual Wall of Fame Dinner of the University of Alberta, Nov.1, 1988. Elizabeth's grandson, Larry Reginald Speers, was an inductee at that event. There is also a 1973 acrylic painting of the Athabasca Brick School by Viola (Silverthorn) Speers, William's wife and a 1977 acrylic painting, a Botticelli copy, by Bessie (Silverthorn) Speers, Roy's wife. Bessie also donated an Athabasca Clay Products serving bowl with lid, a butter paddle and a pipe.
