W. Earle Lockerby collection : [1773, 1789, 1997]

The collection contains copies of the Lockerby genealogy written by W. Earle Lockerby as well as the history of the community of Hamilton which he edited. It also contains photocopies of a petition and affidavit from the Scottish Record Office pertaining to the voyage of the "Edinburgh" to Isle St. Jean in 1773; an article by Frank Bigwood from "Kintyre magazine" containing a passenger list for the "Edinburgh"; and a covering letter by Earle Lockerby. The latter gives a new interpretation of the date and circumstances of the arrival of the Woodside and Montgomery families on Prince Edward Island. The fonds also contains a copy of the Royal American Gazette and Intelligencer of the Island of Saint John 25 May 1789.

Genealogies of P.E.I. families collection

The collection consists of bound genealogies of Prince Edward Island families compiled by individual researchers. These are arranged alphabetically by family name.

The collection was originally accumulated by the PEI Museum and Heritage Foundation and the PEI Genealogical Society. The volumes included are generally donations from individual researcher/authors. The collection was transferred to the Public Archives and Records Office on 12 November 1992 when the Genealogy Division of the PEI Museum & Heritage Foundation was transferred to this office. Similar volumes will continue to be accepted and added to this collection.

The collection consists of a copy print of a photograph of the "Fanny" taken at an unidentified dock presumed to be somewhere in the United Kingdom. Also included are copies of Edward Love's diary of the voyage of the "Fanny" as it was published in the Guardian magazine 10 March to 9 June 1906

This accession consists of one photograph of the executive of the Prince Edward Island Arts Society executive. There is partial identification of the individuals as follows: Back row l-r: Eleanor Lowe, Freda Breelman, ? MacKay, ? Taylor, Ruth Barlow, ? Taylor, ?; Front row l-r: ? Matheson, Jean Jones, Mrs. Bayfield Ellis. The photograph was owned by Jean Jones, a member of the executive of the Prince Edward Island Arts Society. The photographer is unknown and there is no indication of the occasion on which the photograph was taken.

Northumberland Strait Crossing Project fonds

The fonds consists of aerial photographs taken of the bridge and construction site throughout the construction process as well as several photographs taken in 1982 of the New Brunswick side. They are divided into two series: 1) New Brunswick, and 2) Northumberland Strait and Prince Edward Island. There is also one file of memorabilia and photographs of various ferries.

Black family collection

The collection contains miscellaneous items of PEI historical interest collected by the Black family. These include primary sources re. Sherwood Cemetery (1872/3), advertisements from Charlottetown businesses, and a temperance broadsheet. Secondary sources include notes on the Charlottetown district of St. Avard's, a biographical sketch of Robert Alder McLeod, an article by C. F. Black entitled "Prince Edward Island as postally recollected" in 1997 issues of The Canadian Philatelist as well as copies of newspaper articles re. automobiles in PEI by W. K. Rogers (1934), and Province House by Henry Smith (1935). The collection also contains 9 photographs of the Dennis, Raynor and Woodman fox farms and 9 postcards primarily of Charlottetown scenes.

The volume comprises an alphabetical list of almost 6000 Islanders, and the communities they came from, who served in World War I. Appendices include lists of cenotaphs on Prince Edward Island, members of the Lennox Island Band who served in World War I and veterans of the Boer War.

Prince County, Prince Edward Island index of monumental inscriptions / [compiled by] The Prince Edward Island Genealogical Society

This volume contains an alphabetical listing of the names on tombstones in Prince County, i.e. Lots 1-19 and 25-28. It was compiled from surviving stones as recorded in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Women are listed under both their maiden and married names when both are given on the stone. A listing of the cemeteries included in the name index precedes the list.
