The fonds consists of letters written to relatives in Ontario about their homesteading experiences; account of harvest excursion to Alberta (1925); biographical information on Fred Taylor; and letter from J. E. Brown to the Trussler family describing settling near Three Hills, Alberta. Includes photographs of the Trussler and Taylor families in Delisle, Saskatchewan, Lacombe and New Norway in Alberta, plus postcard views of Wetaskiwin and Edmonton regions.

Sandeman Company, Saskatchewan Savings Society, Alberta Loan and Investment Company, and Western Agencies and Development (1906-1919); bonds for Diamond Coal Company, Consolidated Diamond Collieries and Drumheller Consolidated Collieries (1910-1928); livestock certificates for British Americam Live Stock Association and Percheron Society of America (1904-1914); townsite plan for Kindersley, Saskatchewan (1913); map of petroleum and gas rights in the Turner Valley oilfields, and ad for Big Chief Oil shares (1926); posters for farm auction sales at Jackville, Coaldale, Milk River, Chapman and Airdrie (1917-1919); poster for Percheron stallion (1920); and German-American Colonization Company poster (1914).

The fonds consists of an unlined Norwegian School scribbler labeled "Tegnebog for Olav Vekvic," containing five pencil drawings signed by Olav and dated 1906, when he was 19 years old. Most of them are floral bouquets, but one is a portrait of an elderly man described as "Utenrikeminister Lavland". There is also a 1928 report from the Experimental Sub-Station at Beaverlodge, AB, and a 1920 letter from The Pellman Institute regarding a course of studies about which Olaf had enquired.

The fonds consists of letters to his parents regarding his farming experiences in both Manitoba and Alberta; Christmas cards; a farm work diary; grain elevator receipts; and a portrait of the family.

The fonds consists of notebooks, bank books, newspaper clippings, and miscellaneous publications. The notebooks contain information about ranching activities, including lists of farm hands and of breeding mares.

The fonds consists of newpaper clippings about the family, information about country and western stars, and photographs of the Hamilton family, the David J. Bell farm, scenes around High River and views of rodeo.

The fonds consists of a recounting of his 1885 experiences in Steele's Scouts (1895); Glenmore SD cashbook (1889-1909) with Katherine's diary written in the back (1911-1913); Glenmore SD tax record book (1897-1909) with William's cattle records and accounts in the back; LID No. 221 minutes (1907-1920); appointments (1914, 1936); and photographs of Calgary area pioneers (1887-1903).

This fonds consists of John Peirson’s diaries with enclosures, for the years: 1888, 1892-1919, 1921-1925, and 1927. His brief daily journal entries include information related to his family, political life, rural life, personal financial information, social engagements, church meetings, weather and farm operations and activities, including ploughing, sowing and the sale of animals. Mr. Peirson also makes mention of world events, including the sinking of the Titanic and the end of the Great War.

Journals after 1919 each continue to have the name “John Peirson” written on the title page, sometimes with the name of the person who gave the diary to him as a gift; however, most entries in those journals appear to have been written either by John’s daughter-in-law, Catherine (Black) Peirson, and/or his daughter, Mary Ann (Peirson) Hilborn, both of whom were living in houses on the homestead with John. These journals include references to “father” and his health. Other topics include social activities, Women’s Institute meetings, social visits, family life, and some financial information.

Enclosures in the diaries, such as invoices, statements and newspaper clippings, reflect some of the businesses in the community, such as W.A. Gerolamy, grocer; J.W. Chittick Burgoyne General Store; and The Tara Creamery. John Peirson’s involvement with the Burgoyne Cheese Company, and family events reported in the newspaper up to 1937 are also reflected in the enclosures.
