Gordon Miller collection

The collection consists of nine large watercolour illustrative panels commissioned by the UBC Museum of Anthropology, eight of which were commissioned for the exhibit The Four Seasons: Food Getting in British Columbia Prehistory, which ran from April to November 1979. The other watercolour is from an unidentified exhibit or sourcebook.

The collection consists of records that did not fit the mandate of the Greater Vernon Museum and Archives and includes photographs of the Lieutenant Governor of the North-West Territories, Edgar Dewdney, homesteads and farmhouses, aboriginal families and women trainees at the Air Observer School; a Drumheller District Tourist Guide; an issue of "The Roteller," the official bulletin of the Drumheller Rotary Club and mechanically produced photographic reproductions of various mountain scenes including Banff Springs Hotel.

Harlan Smith collection

Collection consists of photographic prints and text labels used in the “Emergence from the Shadow: First Peoples’ Photographic Perspective” exhibit at the Canadian Museum of Civilization, from October 22, 1999 to January 6, 2002. The images depict several different First Nations groups including Haida, Kimsquit, Bella Coola, Ulkatcho-Carrier, Chilcotin, Assiniboine, and Gitksan. The label text incorporates information which Harlan Smith, the photographer, recorded at the time of creation. Labels gives name and age (if known) of the sitters as well as their lineage, employment, and style of dress.

Helen Christie Riel Rebellion collection

The collection consists of a scrapbook of newspaper clippings on the Riel Rebellion, including several maps and political cartoons. Also included are three loose clippings regarding Helen's father,1857; Fish Creek casualties, 1935; and an obituary of her youngest brother, 1954. Most clippings are undated, and the source not noted. The clippings are pasted into a copy of Canada Under the National Policy. The volume is inscribed, "Helen Christie, April 4th 1875."

The collection consists of sound recordings of sounds of nature; the last steam train to enter Lethbridge; a cattle auctioneer at work; ceremonies for the opening of the Fort Macleod Museum; Peigan chicken dance, hand game, and hoop dance songs; stories by the naturalist and writer Andy Russell; interviews with Fred Botsford (on railway building and early telephones), Charles Croweagle (on tipi design), William Ferguson (on prairie fires), Norman Grier (on chuckwagon racing), Harry Long (on Fort Whoop-Up), Helen Mills (pioneer of Fort Macleod), James Morrison (pioneer of High River), and Marie Rose Smith (pioneer of Pincher Creek).
