The fonds consists of 6 files of research material used in the production of Sedgwick's master of arts thesis concerning the Chinese community in Victoria, B.C.: <i>The Context of Economic Change and Continuity in an Urban Overseas Chinese Community</i>. The fonds includes photographs not reproduced in the thesis, and transcriptions of interviews with members of the Chinese community that include recollections of family, neighbours, neighbourhoods, and local businesses.

The fonds consists of photographs of social events in Chinese-Canadian communities in Vancouver and Victoria. Many of the earlier photographs were created by the Chinatown News newspaper of Vancouver.

The fonds consists of lists of death and burial records of Chinese persons in Victoria, BC, 1902-1923; Chinese deceased in Canada, 1937; leave permits issued to the Chinese Hospital in Vancouver, Victoria, and other areas of B.C., 1908-1909; donation and fundraising records, subscription booklets, records of income and expenditures, receipts, Free Miners Certificates, national bonds, 1884-1912; population data; correspondence from the Commander in Shanghai, 1932; minutes of the Chinese Public School; correspondence regarding donations for victims of famines, droughts, and floods in China, and booklets recording donations; records of the Chinese Hospital, including report books on patients, doctor order books and consultation forms, 1956-1976.

The death and burial records series, 1902-1923 consists of: medical certificates of death for Chinese persons in Victoria, BC; and burial permits for Chinese persons in Victoria, BC, including permits issued by the Chinese Benevolent Cemetery Company.

Fonds consists of the by-laws of the organization, a list of directors, and a balance sheet. The balance sheet lists a property located at Lot Nine of City Block Twenty-Nine.

The fonds consists of poll-tax receipt from Campbell River (1925), a liquor purchase permit and records (1945), and a medical identification card from Nanaimo for 1946, relating to medical benefits.

The fonds consists of some administrative and operational records for the Society, generated by Mr. Leonoff in his capacity as a director, an extensive collection of historical research material, as well as drafts and correspondence relating to publication of this historical research material in various monographs and articles.

The fonds consists of manuscripts and notes relating to Heidebrecht's writings. The fonds also contains Heidebrecht's correspondence with and research notes about Russian Mennonites who fought in World War I.

Collection comprises photographs, manuscripts, correspondence, ephemera, books and periodical material resulting from and pertaining to the settlement and subsequent history of Doukhobors in Western Canada. Books and periodical items have been catalogued in the SFU Library Catalogue. Digitized images and accompanying descriptions of approx. one third of the collection are available on the Doukhobor Collection, 1898-1930 website.

The fonds consists of records which document Edgar Wickberg's research on Chinese land tenure systems and rural society, and the history of Chinese communities overseas. Materials include research notes, correspondence, computer printouts, newspaper and magazine clippings, photocopies of both archival documents and scholarly articles, and file cards and notes stored in file card boxes. The series are Land Tenure (divided into sub-series by region), Rural Localities in China, Chinese in Canada, Chinese in the United States, and File Cards.

The fonds consists of financial and tax records and correspondence of Eng Wing and an accounts ledger, receipts, and banking records of Wing Investments Ltd.
