Maritime D-Day Officers' Association

The fonds consists primarily of material relating to the annual commemorative dinner held by the Maritime D-Day Officers' Association on 6 June. It includes correspondence, telegrams, membership lists, minutes of meetings, agendas, menus, press clippings and a few photographs. Most of the correspondence pertains to the dinner, namely, invitations setting out the place and time of the gathering and replies from association members. Included are a few letters from representatives of the D-Day (Normandy) Society and the North Shore Regiment Veterans Association which shed light on their activities. Several group photographs of members of the Maritime Association are also included.

104th Anti-tank Battery, 7th Anti-Tank Regiment RCA collection

This fonds consists primarily of histories of the 104th Anti-Tank Battery and the 7th Anti-Tank Regiment Royal Canadian Artillery and supporting materials. Included are a printed history of the 7th Anti-Tank Regiment, a photocopied history of the 104th Battery dating to 1945, and photocopied listings of officers and other ranks, along with the names of fatal casualties, their dates of death, and the names of those wounded in action.

Also included is a b&w group photograph of the 104th Anti-Tank Battery (1940), a colour photograph of the formation flashes and other distinguishing insignia of the Canadian Army [after 1939], colour negatives of the 104th Battery at the Experimental Station (Fredericton), and colour negatives of shoulder flashes of the Canadian Military.

Donald Logan collection

This collection consists of records relating to the donor's father Herbert L. Logan, a militia officer and veteran of World War I and World War II, along with records the donor collected pertaining to his interests, notably World War I, World War II, the Moncton Hawks hockey team, the Loyal True Blue Association, John M. Brown's general store at Quaco, N.B., businesses of Albert, Westmorland, and Saint John counties, and the steamboats "St. George" and "John Ward".

Records pertaining to Herbert L. Logan and the First and Second World Wars include circulars, telegrams, and photographs relating to the New Brunswick Rangers; messages and orders from commanding officers relating to the 7th Field Hygiene Section of the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps; a postcard of the 7th Field Hygiene Section; identification cards, permits, tickets, shoulder patches, and military buttons; propaganda leaflets dropped by the R.C.A.F. over Germany in German (1930s); handbooks and booklets; the constitution of the Canadian Legion of the British Empire Service League [191-] and other material pertaining to the Canadian Legion; and newspaper clippings.

Records pertaining to the Moncton Hawks include photographs and postcards; a souvenir history of the Moncton Hawks, Allan Cup Champions, 1932-1934; a printed copy of "The Hawk Song" (1933); hockey programme (1948); a hockey schedule (1940s); and a small commemorative booklet containing photographs of the Moncton Hawks Maritime Champions, 1932-1933.

The collection also includes the constitution and 3 membership booklets relating to the Loyal True Blue Association that functioned at Youngs Cove, Queens County, in the 1920s and 1930s; a general store account book for John M. Brown's general store at Quaco, N.B., (1877-1880); accounts relating to the steamboat St. George and the steamer John Ward (1830s); the Intercolonial Railway Time Table of Trains conveying Their Royal Highnesses, the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and York from Saint John to Halifax, 1901; an English Speaking Citizens Committee of Moncton "reply to French propaganda," issued in 1934 to counter two circulars reportedly broadcast in Moncton and area by the Assomption Society of Moncton; and commercial advertising leaflets, letterheads, bills of sale and accounts pertaining to businesses in Albert, Westmorland, and Saint John counties. Of particular interest is an announcement issued by T. H. Estabrooks, of Saint John, of the launch of the "Estabrooks' Red Rose Coffee", [1901?].

The fonds consists of records from the HMCS Prince Rupert. It includes a Master-At-Arms rough report book from 1944- 1945, a copy of "The Communication Weekly" from April 26, 1945, a booklet for the HMCS Prince Rupert reunion in 1985, a 22 lb. brass plaque of the ship's crest, and the HMCS Prince Rupert's red ensign and white ensign.

Collins family fonds

The fonds consists of personal and professional records from the Collins family. It includes family photographs and negatives taken in Prince Rupert, England, Alaska, and Panama. There are also photographs of soliders taken during the Second World War in Japan, a photograph of the cargo ship Earlscourt Park which was built in 1944 at the Prince Rupert Drydock, and Thomas W. senior on a fishing trip with Bing Crosby. There are 105 architectural drawings including blueprints, plans, and maps pertaining to the drydock in Prince Rupert and the City of Prince Rupert's engineering department. Personal documents for Thomas W. Sr. include correspondence (1956), postcards addressed to Thomas and Agnes (1910, 1920, 1939, 1952), a wedding invitation, statement of service with CNR at the drydock (1921- 1939), Canadian Gangway Pass (1963), Canadian Pacific Railway Steamship Line card (1919), unemployment insurance commission card (1943), Active Service Book - Canadian Pay (1918), Indenture to Apprentice (1901), Canadian Expeditionary Force Discharge Certificate (1919), a Sick Furlough form and a fortnightly time book for payments made to dock employees with lists of names and payments pencilled in. Documents for Jack include certificates for perfect attendance at Sunday School (1930) and the Introductory Examination for the Toronto Conservatory of Music (1934), correspondence including three hand-written letters; two written to his father in 1963 and one regarding the Queen Charlotte Canners Ltd. (1950), and a postcard (1939). Also includes an Unemployment Insurance Commission form (1963) Kincolith Preceptory No. 59 Freemason's constitution and Bylaws, a notice of motion, Masonic ephemera, an autograph book (1934), and a Wartime Merchant Shipping Limited Shipyard Terms booklet. Documents for Thomas W. Jr. include a postcard, 3 Booth Memorial High School Student Association cards (1938, 1940-42), a War Dept. report at the Sub-Port in Prince Rupert (1944), and a handwritten diary of his time served on the U.S.S. destroyers McKean and Henry W. Tucker from 1945 to 1946. The diary ends on October 31, 1946 where he notes that he has been away for two years.

J. Allan Smith Royal Flying Corps Training Camps Collection

Collection comprises photographs of the two First World War Royal Flying Corps training camps at Deseronto, Ontario and notes for an unpublished book, <em>Wings Over Deseronto</em>, on the history of the camps. Camp Mohawk and Camp Rathbun were in operation between May 1917 and November 1918, training men to be pilots for the Western Front. The photographs in this collection are originals and reproductions depicting the aircraft, staff and cadets of the Royal Flying Corps, principally in the Deseronto camps, but also at Camps Borden and Leaside (Ontario) and Camp Taliaferro, in Fort Worth, Texas.
