C.J. Scoins collection

This collection consists of 18 copy negatives with black and white reference prints (21 x 26 cm) of photographs taken by John G. McJury, a member of the Clive M. Gillette party that travelled from Western New York State to the Klondike Gold Fields in 1898, and 4 original photographs. The McJury photographs were taken en route and at their destination and include images of Dyea, stampeders on the Dyea Trail, Sheep Camp, the Chilkoot Pass, boat building at Bennett, Miles Canyon and mining activity on Sulphur Creek, Yukon. Other images are of "Klondikers" - a group of men and women sitting in front of a restaurant, 1924; the second Klondike clan meeting in New York State, 1917; an undated image of St. Michael and one of a placer mining operation.

The collection consists of papers written by Stark for her Geography 309 class taught by Professor Barr at Yukon College. One of the papers is "The Canol Pipeline: Origins and Construction"; the others discuss the Dempster Highway and construction problems caused by permafrost.

Clayton Betts collection

The collection consists of photographs collected by Clayton Betts, a photocopy of an article written by Betts, and a photocopy of another article. Betts' article was written for the Vancouver Yukoners' Association Bulletin of December, 1979 and is about Solomon Albert, a trapper and prospector in the White River area. The photographs were taken in the Dawson City area 1898-1920 and show Harry Calder, Solomon Albert, Roald Amundsen, George and Martha Black, A.J. Goddard, Yukon Field Force, the first plane in the Yukon, 1st Alaska Air Expedition of the U.S. Army Air Force, Dawson Rifle Company and Sargeant Dempster's search party for the Lost Patrol. The other article is "Short History of Yukon Field Force and Dawson Rifle Company" by Lieutenant Colonel H.D. Hulme. It was published in the "Alaska Weekly" of August 14, 1936.

The collection consists of photographs that belonged to Bill Carr. The collection is mostly images of Mayo and vicinity, during the 1920s to the 1950s. The majority of the photographs were taken by Carr's stepson, George Cooper but the collection also includes a number of photographs by photographer William S. (Bill) Hare. The W.S. Hare photographs include images of the Mayo flood (probably 1936) and the Wernecke miners' camp near Keno City. Other images are of leisure activities, groups of miners and men, including Bill Carr, at various activities in and around Mayo and one image of Fort Selkirk from the deck of a sternwheeler.

Cran family collection

The collection consists of two photocopies of typewritten transcriptions of the diary written by James Cran during his journey to Dawson City in 1898. One of the copies was typed from the original by Duncan Cran, James' son, who added some handwritten comments to the transcription. He describes the scenery, fellow passengers, getting stuck on a bar in the Yukon Flats, and having to secure the money he was transporting to Dawson City. There is also a photocopy of a "Program of Evening Entertainment" from the July 1, 1898 evening on the steamer "Garonne", which Cran mentions in his diary.

This collection consists of a report, "Appraisal Site for the Territorial Office Building, Whitehorse, Yukon Territory" and original b&w photographs. The purpose of the report was to estimate the market value of properties required by the Territorial Government to provide a site for the new government building. The photographs are taken of various properties located along First and Second Avenues in Whitehorse including: The Baranov Hotel, Molloy's Frozen Foods and Appliances Ltd., and the Alpine Hotel and Bamboo Lounge.

Dale Stedman collection

The collection consists of photocopies of material collected by Dale Stedman about his grandfather Frank Stedman's trip over the Chilkoot Pass and down to Dawson City, Yukon, including excerpts from "The Famous and Not So Famous", Verndale Historical Society, various obituaries and a text by Dale Stedman recounting his grandfather's stories of his trip to the Klondike.
