Dawson City Museum slide presentation collection

This collection consists of 36 hand coloured lantern slides that make up four separate slide presentation stories. These slide presentations have 2 pages of sheet music with sing along chorus and music scores to accompany the slide presentation. The four slide presentations are titled, "Skipper Susie Green", "When the Autumn Leaves are Falling", "Neath the Old Corn Tree, Sweet Estelle", and "It's got to be some one I love". None of these slide presentation are complete. These presentations were shown at Dawson City, Yukon.

These photographs were collected by the Dawson City Museum, Yukon and arranged by subject. The images were taken by amateur and professional photographers including H.T. Misumi, E.O. Ellingsen, Adams & Duclos. They relate to sports and amusements in Dawson City. Activities represented include stage presentations, hunting, baseball, volleyball, Dawson Amateur Athletic Association, curling and hockey. Two shots of caribou herds crossing rivers and the first radio station broadcast by volunteers from the Old Territorial Administration Building (OTAB) in Dawson City in the late 1950s are included. There are 28 images and 2 copies.

This collection contains photographs of buildings and structures of historical interest in the downtown area of Dawson City, Yukon. These images were taken during a walking tour project by Joy Brown, an employee of Dawson City Museum, in 1978. Some of the buildings include the Occidental Hotel, Flora Dora Hotel, Red Feather Saloon, Ruby's Place, Old Territorial Administration Building, Jack London Square, S.S. Keno, St. Paul's Anglican church, St. Mary's Catholic church, Downtown Hotel, Caley's Store, Westminster Hotel, Harrington's Store, North West Mounted Police (NWMP) residence, Schrieber house, Pattallo and Jeckell house, and Treadgold house.

The pamphlets date from 1916 to 1919, the other material has no specific date, but several businesses are mentioned, The Arcade Cafe, the Occidental Hotel, and Yukon Coachlines.

This collection consists of two accessions containing photographs collected by G. M. Harman. Accession 1984.40 contains 25 photographs of events and social life in Dawson City, Yukon between 1902 and 1918. There are group portraits, including the Yukon Lawn Tennis Club, home interiors, mining dredges, and Dawson City volunteers for W.W.I. The second accession 1984.62 contains 6 photographs from ca. 1913 to 1917 of G. M. Harmon with friends (Edwards, Saunders, Jones, Hart, Chamberlain and Anderson), commercial photographs of the Lawn Tennis Club and a local production on skates of "The Diamond from the Sky".
