Eric William Cross fonds

Fonds consists of arbitration records, notebooks, legal case records, and political records. Arbitration records arise out of labour dispute and grievance cases that Eric Cross was hired to arbitrate. Files are arranged alphabetically by company name. Fonds also includes notebooks of the Oxford County Court, and the Oxford County Division Court. Fonds also contains records of legal cases, as well as records arising from Cross's political career, including: congratulatory correspondence, municipal statistics, speeches and drafts of speeches, government publications, clippings and magazine articles, a scrapbook of Liberal party promotional material (including two photographs of roadside election signs), minutes of special committees, maps (of the Ottawa River, of Southern Ontario, and of a portion of Ontario, showing transmission lines), two photos of Cross, delegates lists, and other records acculated by Cross during the campaign for the 1943 Ontario General Election. Files are arranged alphabetically by subject.

Archibald Cochrane fonds

Fonds consists of correspondence of the two predecessors of Archibald Cochrane, records regarding the activities of the Canadian Red Cross in the Brampton area, labour dispute case files, a scrapbook pertaining to Cochrane's military service, legal career, and family, a recipe book, a medical case journal, and an audiotaped interview with Mrs. Ann Boyd Skinner, Cochrane's daughter, in which she discusses her father and her family history. The correspondence of Cochrane's predecessor Judge Justin, consists mainly of carbon copies of outgoing correspondence. The correspondence of his predecessor Judge Trevor H. Grout consists mainly of correspondence regarding County Court cases. Labour dispute case files contain Judge Cochrane's correspondence, notes, briefs, submissions, evidence, and background information for conciliation, arbitration, and grievance cases. Microfilmed scrapbook contains newspaper clippings, photographs, and other items. Featherstone Osler family fonds

Fonds consists of records of four generations of the Osler family, including: correspondence; diaries and journals; commissions, certificates, and diplomas; genealogical material; legal notes; printed material; and photographs. Correspondence includes bound volumes of letters, as well as loose correspondence. The first volume contains correspondence and accounts of Featherston Lake Osler's parents, and that of the Bath family, British relatives of the Oslers through marriage. Volumes two and three contains correspondence and other records of the Reverend Featherstone Lake Osler regarding his life as a sailor, student, and minister at Tecumseth and Dundas. Volume four contains letters of Ellen Osler and newspaper clippings regarding her life and death. The fifth volume contains letters and other records of Edward Osler Jr., the Rev. Edward Lake, and Henry Bath Osler. Loose correspondence contains personal and business letters of various members of the Osler family, mainly Justice Featherston Osler and Britton Bath Osler. Letters also include correspondence with Sir John A. Macdonald, Alexander, and Oliver Mowat regarding the payment of judges and other legal matters.

W. G. Falconbridge fonds

Eric H. Silk fonds

Fonds consists of memoirs written by Eric Silk about his positions within the Ontario government, speeches, and other documents pertaining to his career.

The memoirs were written in 1981, in several volumes documenting the various stages of his career. Included are "From the Office the Law Clerk to Legislative Counsel", and "Memoirs of the Parliament Buildings". An additional document contains information about the heads of the Ontario Provincial Police, 1909-1963.

The fonds also contains speeches of Eric Silk, 1956-1973 and a volume containing a report from Eric Silk to Kelso Roberts discussing studies on the jurisdiction of County and District Courts.

The fonds also includes newspaper clippings on the history of Shelburne, Ontario.

Edwin Stewart Turner fonds

Fonds consists of personal and professional records of Edwin Stuart Turner documenting his daily activities, his participation in World War I, and his work on various engineering projects, particularly the construction of the Welland Canal. Personal records include diaries from 1903-1964, autobiographical data, notes and published materials acquired by Turner during World War I, and school exercise books and other documents relating to his education. Fonds also contains records relating to Turner's professional activities, particularly as they related to the construction of the Welland Canal. Documents relating to the Welland Canal include notebooks recording progress on the canal, technical drawings, a history of its construction, correspondence, and various loose documents and clippings. Other projects include a tidal graving dock at St. John, New Brunswick, and a CPR Viaduct at Seguin Valley.

C. S. Gzowski fonds

Fonds consists primarily of correspondence dealing with the professional life of Sir Casimir Gzowski. Correspondence concerns membership in various professional associations, letters of introduction, and his career. Specific engineering projects mentioned in the correspondence include canals, the Pacific railway, and the international bridge at Niagara. Correspondence also includes references to education, defense, the Society of Civil Engineers, and Gzowski's role within the Niagara Parks Commission. Correspondents include W.H. Draper, John A. Macdonald, Edward Blake, Oliver Mowat and several Governors-General of Canada. Fonds also contains some correspondence from relatives in Europe. Fonds also contains clippings and printed material, as well as certificates of membership in engineering societies, awards and printed reports of the Commissioner of Public Works. Many records relate to Gzowski's membership in various societies, and his participation in meetings of engineers. Photographs include family and personal photos of Gzowski, and photos of events in which Gzowski participated. All records in the fonds are arranged in chronological order.
