Alfred J. Hennessey fonds

The fonds consists of complete files for 56 projects which include religious, educational, residential, public and industrial buildings. Contents include foundation, footings, and site plans, floor plans, elevations, sections, framing plans, interior and exterior details and construction schedules. Some include heating and electrical plans, occasionally by a consulting firm. A few contain preliminary drawings and white prints. The files have been arranged into the following series:

Series 3: Industrial/commercial buildings
Series 4: Public buildings
Series 5: Residential buildings

Alfred Riggs fonds

The fonds consists of photographs of Alfred Riggs, the PEI contingent and the tombstone of Riggs and his fallen compatriots; sketches executed by Alfred Riggs of Cape Verde, kaffir huts, vessels, lighthouses, etc. in South Africa and one of the Carter, Watson and Alley stores in Charlottetown; letters of condolence to Alfred's parents from Louis Henry Davies, Charles Tupper, Charlottetown City Council, and Lieutenant MacDonnell, Riggs' commanding officer; and copies of newspaper articles containing letters home from Alfred Riggs and his comrades, sketches of the battlefield at Paardeberg, poetry, testimonials to the fallen soldiers, and accounts of memorial services.

This fonds consists of 24 photographs taken during World War II, 1939-1945. Unfortunately, all soldiers, ships, and areas are unidentified with the exception of a photograph of four marked graves bearing the following names: N.(?) McKay, C.J. Kenny, W.B. Noble and T. McNeil.

The collection consists of one videocassette of a home movie taken by Alice Clark, memorabilia of World War 1 including photographs of a group of volunteers in Charlottetown and of Jack Allen McDonald, a postcard (1918), and an obituary and notes on Louise F. Dias, nee Stanley, widow of Ernest Muttart, first Canadian casualty in WWI, and two published volumes: Tales of Abegweit by Benjamin Bremner and a partial view booklet of PEI, circa 1900.

The video begins with the Parliament Buildings in Ottawa, followed by scenes of the countryside taken from the train on a trip in 1941 from Ottawa to Prince Edward Island. The film contains street scenes of Charlottetown, including Queen Square, as well as shots of Mt. Stewart, Milburn, and the PEI landscape. Some footage takes place at a festival of Scottish games. Persons appearing in the film footage include Alice, Edna Glover, Roger Rousseau, Will and Muriel Cobb.

Alice C. Green collection

The collection consists of scrapbooks and other materials used by Alice C. Green to write her book "Footprints on the Sand of Time: A History of Alberton". Included in this collection are newspaper clippings, correspondence, notes, and transcribed information. There are also six land conveyances dating from 1873, 1892, 1911, and 1913. Most of the newspaper clippings and notes are related specifically to the community and people of Alberton. The nature of these articles vary but include announcements of birthdays, marriages, obituaries, community events, activities and other points of interest relating to Alberton. There are also many articles of general interest related to the history of PEI. The material is arranged roughly by subject within the collection. Some of the clippings in the scrapbooks date from the 1920s and 1930s but the majority of clippings and other materials in the collection are dated 1942-1979. Also included in the collection is the Dominion Census returns for Alberton, 1921.

Alice Fraser fonds

The contents of the fonds are records collected by Alice Fraser relating to her Aitken family ancestors of Kings County, PEI. The information was compiled into an one-hundred page book of Aitken family geneaology written by Alice in 1974. A large portion of the fonds consists of Johnson Aitken's documents. His account book documents the business of his Livery in Lot 52 (1837-1846) and accounts for the grist mill he operated with his father (1840-1850). There is a separate account of J.W. Wightman for the mill dated 1837. Correspondence relating to Johnson's profession of Under Sheriff of Kings County, including his deeds of appointment for 1835 to 1839 and 1843 is included. The fonds also contains Johnson's accounts with William MacKay and Company (1838) and Samuel Ford, a copy of James Aitken's will (1909), and correspondence relating to the congregations and ministers of the Three Rivers and Montague Presbyterian churches (1837-1843?).

The fonds consists of baptism, marriage, burial, and confirmation records from All Saints Roman Catholic Church from 1874 to 1899. The records are indexed at the beginning of the reel from 1874 to 1947 although records after 1900 have not been filmed on this microfilm.

Allan MacDonald (Orwell) fonds

The fonds consists of letters of recommendation for Allan MacDonald and letters to him from Rev. Robert MacGregor and his son Alexander from Kilmuir, Scotland in the 1830s. The latter contain news of family and friends and touch on the current state of affairs on Lord MacDonald's estate in Skye. The fonds also contains a petition from Allan MacDonald requesting land in Lot 55 for himself and also for land on behalf of the settlers there for land for a Church of Scotland meeting house and burying ground. A final letter is from Charles MacDonald, Allan's son, to his fiancee Tinet MacDonald, daughter of Lieutenant-Governor A. A. MacDonald, written from Ottawa in 1861.
