The fonds consists of letters of appointment to William Armstrong as Justice of the Peace, tax assessment notices, invitations and certificates, records relating to church participation, and correspondence written by Jim Armstrong from Europe during World War I. Fonds includes a map of Vancouver Island and an early subdivision plan for North Saanich used by William Armstrong. Fonds includes individual and family portraits of the Armstrongs.

Coburn (resident of Victoria) as Mayor of Nanaimo due to absence of any other nominees and correspondence to Col. Hon. James Baker (Provincial Secretary, Bureau of Statistics, Victoria) from R. E. Gosnell, (Secretary, Bureau of Statistics): Report of the Bureau of Statistics for the Municipalities of British Columbia, 1896.
