The fonds comprises records created by Duke from approximately 1946 to 2006. They are related to all aspects of Duke’s life and career. Among other types of records, the fonds includes: drafts of Duke's articles, essays and speeches; personal and production photographs; annotated working scripts of various television and film productions; personal and administrative correspondence; legal records, personal and administrative correspondence pertaining to the takeover of CKVU-TV; awards; personal notes; journals; press clippings featuring work by and about Duke; ephemera collected by Duke; and audio/visual material.

Series have been determined during archival processing and are primarily based on the various activities that Duke engaged in over his life and working career (see the Arrangement note below for more details about series arrangement). David Aberle fonds

The fonds consists of material related to David Aberle's research activities, academic work and writing. It includes the notebooks and journals of his fieldwork beginning in 1940-41 and continuing through 1991. These consist primarily of fieldnotes and other notes made during and after those trips. The vast majority of this material relates to Aberle's work with the Navajo in Arizona. The fonds also includes notes, articles, data and codes relating to Aberle's research into kinship and language among the Navajo, Mongols and Athapaskans, and extensive research into Navajo cultural and economy. The fonds also includes correspondence on a variety of academic subjects, Aberle's teaching materials from UBC's Department of Anthropology and Sociology, his work, including a number of reports written as part of, the Navajo-Hopi land dispute. Finally, the fonds includes the research for and manuscripts of a number of Aberle's essays and articles, as well as chapters and appendixes of his books.

David Suzuki fonds

Fonds consists of textual and audiovisual material related to David Suzuki’s professional work. It includes notes and manuscripts of several of his book, including "From Pebbles to Computers" and "Sciencescape" and copies of and correspondence relating to his articles published by "The Globe and Mail", the Southam News Syndicate and "Science Dimension" in the 1980s. It also includes correspondence relating to his professional work, his broadcasting and literary career, his work in the Department of Zoology at UBC, and research materials, information and correspondence regarding various associations to which Suzuki belonged or had dealings. It also includes recordings of Dr. David Suzuki’s "Discovery" and Dr. Suzuki’s "Equinox" from 1983-1990 and video recordings of some episodes of "The Nature of Things" from 1994, and copies of his speeches from 1985-2009.

Department of Psychology fonds

The fonds consists of correspondence, reports, and minutes of meetings relating to the activities and programs of the Department of Psychology, and photographs of Department Heads and prominent faculty members. Some records date from before the formation of the Department, when the psychology program was still part of the Department of Philosophy and Psychology. Also included are audio recordings of interviews (with typed transcripts) documenting the Department's historical development.
The material is arranged in six series: Administration, Departmental Committees, Departmental Programs, External Correspondence, Historical Files, and Oral History Project. The Historical Files series consists of textual records which document the Department's formative years, and photographs; they had been placed in a box and stored separately from the Department's other records until transferred to the Archives.
