Fonds consists of documents dealing almost wholly with Anthony Fenwick Pickard's service in the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN), but concentrate particularly on his seagoing service and his time as Canadian Naval Commander in Newfoundland after the Second World War. Other material of importance includes: standing orders for heads of ships; notes and transcriptions of various lectures; press clippings from the start and the end of the war, as well as newsworthy naval events during the war; messages, orders and correspondence from the HMS Repulse, HMCS Chambly, HMCS St. Catherines, HMCS Haida, HMCS Quebec and the HMCS Algonquin; nominal lists from the HMCS Quebec; personal documents, cards and invitations; First Canadian Escort Squad material; photographs and information on the HMCS Algonquin's visit to Sierra Leone; and photographs of miscellaneous material.

Fonds consists of 40 files on a variety of topics, including the Canadian army regimental system, terrorism, and Russia and the countries of the former Soviet Union. There are nine series: Fonds is comprised of the following series:

Fonds consists of four folders and one report regarding reserve training in the mid-1990's. Folders 1 and 2 are concerned with the concepts of the Area Readiness Training Company (ARTC) at Meaford. Folder 3 highlights the concepts for militia combat evaluation methodology. Folder 4 contains unit evaluations and the report provides the Annual Training Directive for 1997-1998. The folders are arranged in chronological order.

Fonds consists of five reports. Includes one monthly summary report for January 1943, and four monthly intelligence reports for February, April, June and August 1943.

Fonds consists of minutes to meetings for 1940-1945 and 1953-1964. Also includes papers for consideration at the meetings for 1963-1964.

Fonds consists of maps of Region III in Vietnam as well as briefings on Darlac, Bind Dinh, and Kontum Provinces. It also includes internal correspondence of the International Commission for Control and Supervision (ICCS) and an outline of Canadian operations within the ICCS. Additionally, there are newspaper clippings, an issue of Time with the cover title “Vietnam: Ten Years Later”, and an issue of Sentinelle from 1973. Files 4 and 5 contain issues, and copies, of The Petawawa Base Post from 1973. File 6 is a collection of correspondence and documentation related to the CANDEL ICCS Association, including meeting minutes and matters relating to reunions. Col (Ret’d) Smith was one of the members to serve as president of the association. Included as well in the file is a document entitled “Recommended Constitution of the ‘Friends of the Canadian War Museum’”.

Collection consists of an annotated photograph album that documents Arthur Melville Goulding's service with the Royal Flying Corps (RFC) during the First World War. Also includes enlarged duplicates of selected photographs from the album, as well as a finding aid to those copies that contains some transcriptions of Goulding's handwritten notes.

Collection contains material documenting Captain Arthur Roy Brown's service with the Royal Naval Air Service (RNAS) during the First World War. Includes 38 black and white photographs, copies of Brown's letters from 1916-1918, copies of his flying logbooks for 1916-1918, excerpts transcribed from logbooks for 1915-1918, and other documents. These materials detail the Brown's activities, training, operations, air combats, and daily life with the RNAS. Also includes several articles and essays that provide evidence leading to differing conclusions as to who shot down Baron von Richthofen, or the Red Baron.

Fonds consists of material documenting the working inventory for the Canadian military aircraft of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF), and the the Canadian Armed Forces following unification in 1968. Among others, this Includes aircraft inventory cards, crash cards for Canada and Newfoundland during the Second World War, crash registers, and aircraft book sernos listing aircraft serial numbers. Also includes aircraft photographs, a Dept. of National Defence handbook on aircraft and a binder labelled Aircraft Allotment.
