Scovil as ensign (1865) and captain (1866) of Company 8, Fourth Battalion, Kings County Militia. There are also two muster rolls. One belonged to Captain G.G. Scovil, of Company 8, Fourth Battalion, Kings County Militia (1866) and contains names, ages, marital status and active or sedentary status of the members of the company.

The other muster roll, for the same company, originally belonged to a Captain W.B. Scovil, Company 8, Fourth Battalion, King's County Militia and contains names, ages, marital status and active or sedentary status.

Fonds consists of records of the Fort Steele government agent and assessor. Includes correspondence, financial records, and lists.

Fonds consists mainly of correspondence between family members including Susan and Rebecca Crane and other women; Cogswell, Crane, Morse genealogical notes; legal documents; clippings; family photographs; watercolors painted by Ruth Roach Crane when she was a schoolgirl in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

This fonds documents Oswald Crocket's political and personal activities. It reflects his involvement with his constituency, particularly in relation to the militia, rural mail contracts, public works, election campaigns, and the Intercolonial Railway as well as his political activities in relation to government departments and agencies, such as fisheries, Indian affairs, inland revenue, the interior, justice, labour, Civil Service Board, and King's Printer.

The fonds consists of political and family correspondence, materials relating to the St. Andrew's Society of Fredericton (1830s-1950s), and newspaper clippings.

Fonds consists of 24 items of correspondence for the period of June, 1908 to June, 1909. Subjects covered include livestock inspection and diseases.

The fonds consists of Clement Francis Cornwall's diaries recording life at Ashcroft Manor and as a senator in 1872 in Ottawa. It also contains Cornwall's bench books from ca. 1891 to 1906.

This fonds consists mainly of the correspondence, legal and land documents accumulated by George S. Grimmer in his public offices in Charlotte County. There are a wide range of subjects including taxes and fees, legal cases and land purchases. The records deal with schools and teachers salaries, the administration of the courts, election arrangements and voters lists, the licensing of commercial activities and the appointment of local government officials such as fish wardens and liquor dealers. There are frequent mentions of ships and ship building, especially the schooner "Mary Ellen" and of roads and bridges. There is also a reference to the defenses against the Fenians in 1865.

There are also some household receipts and other records. The papers of F. Howard Grimmer, 1858-1903, are also included.

The fonds includes documents relating to approximately 300 civil cases, as well as extensive files on non-litigated land transactions, debt collections, and estate administration. Included is particularly interesting material on the legal aspects of constructing the railway through Kings County. While there are no criminal law files, there is considerable documentation arising from the role as clerk of the peace. Although the geographical focus is Kennebecasis Valley, other counties included are Albert, Queens and St. John.
