This collection consists of several items pertaining to Cornwall and Lorne Valley including histories of these communities as well as histories of Cornwall Church and Cornwall School. There are also newspaper articles relating to the reopening of the Cornwall United Church. Finally, the collection includes an essay about the history of Cornwall by Marjorie Howard. Topics covered in the essay include geography, natives, pioneer settlements, Cornwall Church, school, post office, hall, rink, population, Beechwood Gardens, the Homefront and war monuments erected in Cornwall in memory of those who died during the World Wars.

John Darrach fonds

The fonds consists of two letters to John Darrach in New Zealand. One was written by William Orr in San Felipe, California on the 25 January 1879 and talks of ships and the shipping trade from PEI to Boston and Newfoundland. Also included is a typed transcript of the letter. The second letter was written to Darrach in 1878 by Benjamin Bulman from New Glasgow, Prince Edward Island and gives considerable genealogical information about the residents of that community, in particular the Orr and Bulman families, weather, crops and market conditions, happenings in the church, and the state of various businesses in New Glasgow and the surrounding area including Hunter River.

The fonds consists of the original and transcribed letter written by David Laird to Artemas Moffat of New Glasgow on 31 January 1903. Written from the Indian Commissioner's Office in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Laird writes in response to a Christmas letter sent by Moffat. David expresses anticipation of his next trip to New Glasgow, and asks Moffat to pass his condolences to William Artemas, Mrs. Archibald, and George Smith of New Glasgow.

The fonds consists of minutes, financial statements, committee reports, newspaper clippings, programs and syllabi from the Prince Edward Island Music Festival Association and the annual Music Festival between 1946 and 1977. This material, as well as programs and syllabi for various other Music Festivals across the country for these years, is arranged by year. There are also minutes, secretary reports and digest reports of the annual convention of the Federation of Canadian Music Festivals between 1956 and 1977. The fonds also contain seven audio reels of the 1970 Provincial Finals and unidentified competitions.

Alexander Stewart fonds : [1805]

The fonds consists of a three page transcription of a letter written by Alexander Stewart on 12 October 1805, to his father, James Stewart in Perthshire, Scotland. Alexander's letter, postmarked from Charlottetown, was written in response to a letter written by his family in February of that same year. Alexander writes of ships arriving in PEI with emigrants from Belfast and the Isle of Skye. Stewart offers to pay for the passage of his brother John, and encourages his father James to emigrate to PEI for the quality of life it offers and the availability of land.

Mrs. Yeo T. Smith collection

The collection consists of three postcards of the Hotel Victoria, Victoria Row, and the Provincial buildings in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. These postcards were mailed from Pictou, Nova Scotia, to Mrs. Yeo T. Smith in Ottawa in 1905. There are no messages on the postcards, just the address of the recipient.

Millie Gamble fonds

The fonds consists of 163 photographic images taken by and collected by Millie Gamble dating 1905 to about 1920. The photographs include scenes of the Tryon area and its residents depicting everyday life - family and friends, school groups, picnics, beach scenes, farming, fishing, buildings, and community events. Several of the images include Millie's nieces Hope and Adelaide Ives. Several of the images include the Tryon Woollen Mills building.

This fonds consists of 86 photographs covering a wide variety of subject matter. The largest number of photos are of people. Unfortunately, all but one (Chief John Thomas Sark) are unidentified. Next, in order of abundance, are shots of the city of Charlottetown, ships (the majority of which are identified) and the Holland Cove area. There are also a few miscellaneous shots and a number of non-Island photographs.

The collection consists of seven articles relating to storms in the Maritime region of Canada, including those that occurred on Prince Edward Island from 1959 to 1972. Included are articles from such publications as the "Weatherwise" and "The Ice Seminar," as well as documents published by the Canadian Departments of Transport and Environment. The collection also contains "A Bibliography of Canadian Climate, 1763-1957," compiled by Morley K. Thomas in 1961.
