This fonds documents Oswald Crocket's political and personal activities. It reflects his involvement with his constituency, particularly in relation to the militia, rural mail contracts, public works, election campaigns, and the Intercolonial Railway as well as his political activities in relation to government departments and agencies, such as fisheries, Indian affairs, inland revenue, the interior, justice, labour, Civil Service Board, and King's Printer.

The fonds consists of political and family correspondence, materials relating to the St. Andrew's Society of Fredericton (1830s-1950s), and newspaper clippings.

The bulk of the material is graphic and most of the photographs relate to his tenure as Mayor of Toronto and to his Jewish communal work. The records also include general correspondence, speeches, campaign material, scrapbooks, cartoons, certificates and awards, biographical writings, audio and visual materials and artifacts. The records have been arranged into nine series representing Givens’ various roles and activities and have been described to the file level and item level when necessary. These series are: 1. Fred Ryckman fonds

The fonds consists of records created by Ryckman during his tenure with the Department of Indian Affairs, primarily from the 1920s and '30s. The fonds includes contact sheets copied from photographs that remain in possession of Ryckman’s heirs. Records in the fonds take the form of notes and correspondence. Also included in records is a ledger that contains census information. The fonds also includes photocopies of newspaper articles relating to members of the First Nations with whom Ryckman came into contact as a result of his work, as well as materials relating to Ryckman himself.
