Gordon Miller collection

The collection consists of nine large watercolour illustrative panels commissioned by the UBC Museum of Anthropology, eight of which were commissioned for the exhibit The Four Seasons: Food Getting in British Columbia Prehistory, which ran from April to November 1979. The other watercolour is from an unidentified exhibit or sourcebook.

Harry B. Hawthorn fonds

The fonds consists of records created and collected by Harry B. Hawthorn in a number of different capacities: as researcher, professor, Dean of Anthropology and Director of the Museum of Anthropology. Textual records in the fonds include correspondence, transcripts, research notes and clippings from publications. Much of the graphic materials relate to Harry Hawthorn’s interactions with aboriginal communities as an anthropologist, a professor, and as the Director of MOA. Other images relate to his personal life, documenting his youth in New Zealand, his life as a father and anthropologist, and his later established professional roles.

Ian Ross fonds

The fonds consists of two series - Publications and Arts I. The first includes original and copy edited typescripts for three of Ross's books: Lord Kames and the Scotland of His Day (1972), The Correspondence of Adam Smith (1977), and William Dunbar: A Critical Study (1981). The Arts I series consists of minutes, correspondence, reports and printed material arising from the establishment and assessment of the program.

Institute of Oceanography fonds

The fonds consists of miscellaneous files from George Pickard's office (1949-1974), including records from the Canadian Committee on Oceanography (1960-1972). The bulk of the records are composed of departmental files including correspondence, grant material, and financial records. There is also a comprehensive set of oceanographic log sheets containing data collected between 1951 and 1978.

The fonds consists of personal and professional materials created and collected by Professor Jacob Zilber. The fonds consists of screenplays, manuscripts, drafts, notes, and correspondences relating to Jacob Zilber's published and unpublished materials. The fonds also includes biographical and autobiographical material, clippings, teaching records and course materials. It also contains manuscripts by students, materials related to musician and composer Michael Zilber, Department of Creative Writing administrative records as well as various UBC committee records.
The fonds is divided into five series: Manuscripts, Screenplays, Monologues series (1950-1999); Administrative and Teaching Materials series (1964-1989); Personal Materials series (1950-1997); Photographs series (1947-1989); and Audiovisual Materials series (196?-1985).

Documentary forms include correspondence, research notes, interview transcripts, draft and published versions of magazine articles, play scripts, and full manuscripts of books.
