Dalhousie University Institute of Public Affairs fonds
Fonds consists of textual documents created and accumulated by various groups and organizations within the Institute of Public Affairs/Henson College. Documents include articles, correspondence, minutes, memos, newspaper and magazine clippings, interviews, field notes, pamphlets, and reports. Many of the documents pertain to the internal operations of the IPA.
The fonds also contains research proposals and reports related to energy, community growth, urban and rural development, labour studies, education, economic and industrial development, the medical sector, and housing. There is significant work on the status of African Nova Scotians in the employment and economic structure of Nova Scotia and the health of people in the Maritime provinces.
The fonds also contains reference material kept by the IPA in its corporate library, which was used in the research and drafting of various reports.
This fonds consists of photographs; audiovisual materials; newspaper clippings; pamphlets and posters; Dalhousie publications and other printed material; student and personnel files; correspondence; manuscripts; reports created by or reviewed by senior administration; financial materials including accounts payable and receivable documents, budgets, and ledgers; legal documents, including deeds and leases; diaries; scrapbooks; meeting minutes and agendas; academic plans; speeches; and other documents related to the senior administration’s sphere of responsibility.
The fonds contains music and lyrics as well as a letter from Donald Murray.
Atlantic Symphony Orchestra fonds
Fonds consists of records pertaining to the administrative, operational, financial, and artistic activities of the ASO. Included are materials documenting the Board of Directors, box office operations (including ticket sales), financial affairs, fundraising, general administration, guest artists, orchestra members, public relations and publicity, and the union. Also included is the photograph series which presents a visual record of various aspects of the orchestra's activities, including performances and women's auxiliary events as well as publicity shots of musicians, conductors, staff, and guest artists.
Osler Medico-Historical Club of Halifax fonds
Fonds consists of medical academic papers presented to the Osler Medico-Historical Club.
Grace Maternity Hospital fonds
Fonds consists of reports, statistics, and photographs of the hospital.
Fonds consists of sensitive material regarding chemical warfare. These papers include correspondence, research, reports, notebooks, articles, and manuals. Also included is an unpublished manuscript titled "Adventures of a Chemist in Search of Poisons" written by Dr. Young. The manuscript tells of some of his experiences during his twenty-five years as a forensic chemist.
