Ford Colyer collection

The collection consists of 39 original colour photographs of Faro, Yukon after the June 13, 1969 lightning fire which destroyed much of the town. Images depict fire damage and the construction of new houses. The photographs were taken by Bob Studds of Whitehorse.

The fonds consists of prints copied from original photographs acquired by Frank Charman during his life in the Klondike, Yukon. Scenes include Lindeman, Chilkoot Pass, Long Lake, Mud Lake, Taku City, Pine Creek gold fields, Taku River, Dawson City, the sternwheelers, "Yukoner" and "Sarah". People shown in the photographs are Bertha and Frank Charman, his sister Ada Charman Johnson, and unidentified men with whom Frank worked. Some of the photographs were done by professionals like Larss and Duclos, Vogee, H.J. Goetzman, and Antelope.

Frank Fingland fonds

The fonds consists of sound recordings of an interview conducted by Doug Whyte, archivist at the Yukon Archives, with Frank Fingland following his retirement after 30 years with the public service. Mr. Fingland describes his career including his terms as Administrative Assistant, Acting Commissioner, as well as his Yukon Territorial Government career as Deputy Minister in the departments of Finance, Government Services and Executive Council Office. He also comments on topics of relevance to the Yukon and gives his impression of some of the people with whom he was acquainted during his career. The interview follows his career chronologically.

Frank W. Hart fonds

The fonds consists of a typed manuscript recounting the highlights of Frank William Hart's life from 1857 to circa 1929. He records his first-hand impressions of early Vancouver history and of how the town was laid out. He describes his activities as a contractor in Dyea, Alaska and the treacherous voyage to Dawson City, Yukon via sternwheeler. He concludes his account with a description of the layout and institutions of Prince Rupert, B.C. and his business activities there.

The fonds consists of writings of Fred Fraser, including his hand-written memoirs, written in the mid 1970s, a newspaper clipping, memoirs of his tenure as Commissioner of the Yukon, and letters from Fraser to Yukon Archives, recalling his experiences as Commissioner, 1951-1952.

G.M. Cobban collection
