I.V. Macklin fonds

The fonds consists of photographs of I.V. Macklin as a high school graduate, a university graduate, in the U of T Glee Club, in Grande Prairie with his wife Nellie and Dr. & Mrs. Forbes, on the UFA Board of Directors, as a candidate for the CCF party, at an NDP convention, and as an elderly man at home. The written records consists of a 1910 U of T yearbook; a book of Alberta Cooperative Leaders; a booklet containing many of Macklin's speeches and radio addresses, called Life is More Than Meat; and some newspaper artilcles about the life of I.V. Macklin written in 1971.

Jack and Vera Soars fonds

<p>The fonds consists of 6 photographs (4 relating to his RCAF service, 1943), 3 certificates congratulating Jack and his wife Vera on their fiftieth wedding anniversary, a CD copy of an interview Jack conducted with J.B. Oliver, a copy of a school project written by Joan (Oliver) Little on the history of CFGP, and a newspaper column "Jottings from Alberta" for which Jack was the correspondent. An accrual consists of a receipt for Norman Soars for a birth certificate (1916), high school examination results, records relating to Jack's service during WWII in the Royal Canadian Air Force including a certificate of appointment as Pilot Officer in 1944 and a Central Mortgage and Housing report (1957); 4 scripts, 1 appears to be a speech and a collection of jokes and news articles, a booklet "Alberta Folklore Quarterly" and 7 crests related to curling and 3 from CFGP. A further accrual included digital copies of recordings of Jack presenting "Tapestry of Christmas" broadcasts on CFGP. <p>Vera's documents include records as a student in grade 6,a grade 8 Public School Leaving Diploma, a Elementary Certificate from St. Martin's House, Toronto, for Pitman's Shorthand (1936), and one from Pitman House, Toronto where she qualified for Stage 2 Pitman Shorthand (1937) and certificates from Grande Prairie Business College qualifying for Intermediate Typing and Advanced Typing (1937), a certificate of baptism (1920), a confirmation certificate (1932) and a crest from the Grande Prairie Ladies Curling Champions.</p>

The fonds consists of farming records belonging to James A. Lillico including farm lease agreements, a permit book, promisory notes, invoices, daily market prices from the Alberta Wheat Pool for 1934, a Hudson's Bay Company map (1933) and 33 photographs of harvesting and families, schools and hospitals, parade floats, missions at Shaftesbury and Dunvegan, and the Dunvegan ferry.

The fonds consists of three series: Jean Scorgie's family photographs, including a copy of the wedding photograph of William Scorgie and Violette McEachern in 1918, and copies of 27 photographs from Jean (Scorgie) Cameron's family album regarding the lives of the Scorgie and McEachern families in the Hinton Trail area; Alex Cameron's dorm photographs, consisting of copies of 8 photographs showing Alex Cameron and his high school classmates in the County Dorm just after World War II; and Jean's scrapbooks of Forbes Presbyterian Church History, consisting of 71 photo scans and copies of the textual pages from two albums tracing the history of Forbes Presbyterian Church from 1903-2000.

The fonds consists of a copy of Robert Holmes' memoirs concerning the trip made from Liverpool to the mission on the shores of Lesser Slave Lake in 1902; a copy of Jessie Holmes' memoirs of the same trip, of their work and experiences at Slave Lake, Shaftesbury Trail, and Lake Saskatoon; 8 letters written by Jessie, Robert, Lizzie and George, dated 1902 to 1912; and 38 photographs of the family and scenes at their homes and missions.

The fonds consists of 3 CDs and 73 photographs: 9 of Family and Friends, 26 of Grande Prairie and Area, and 38 of Growing up in the Forties and Fifties. One CD is a power point presentation of nostalgic Grande Prairie photographs produced for Grande Prairie ex-patriots reunion held in Edmonton on September 14, 2002. A second CD contains 134 photographs, 38 of which have been printed, borrowed from participants of a 2004 Grande Prairie Alumni reunion. A third CD includes 18 photographs which have been printed.
