Jack Lawson's Blackfoot legend manuscript

The item is a copy of a 14-page manuscript of two Blackfoot legends: "Woman's revenge: a legend of the Blackfeet" and "Gambling for scalps". They recount periods of warfare between the Blackfoot and the Crow or Snake tribe; and between the Blackfoot and the Cree. The original manuscript was copied by means of a letterpress book, a technique seldom used after the 1900s.
