Registrar's Office fonds

  • Fonds
  • 1907 - 2003

The fonds consists of records dating from 1907 to 2003, which provide a unique source of information particularly about student‐related matters such as grades, university admission, graduation and examinations. In addition to records generated by the Registrarʹs Office itself, there are also Faculty records (1915‐1921) which were probably maintained by the Registrar who served as the secretary to Senate. The records have been largely retained in their physical order in which they were acquired ‐ as a result, records from different series are often inter‐filed together, making it difficult to distinguish them with any accuracy. The records on microfilm include correspondence, student registration cards, academic records, and information on scholarships and bursaries dating from 1913 to 1968. The Registrarʹs Office also collected copies of student examinations. In 1993 copies of student examinations from 1915 to 1969 were microfilmed and the originals destroyed.

North Bay Teachers' College fonds

  • ON00408 F001
  • Fonds
  • 1902-2003, predominant 1909-1974

Fonds consists of records generated by North Bay Teachers' College while carrying out activities relating to the provision of post-secondary teacher education in North Bay. The fonds documents activities such as administration (including human resources and property management), admissions, and grading of students. The fonds also documents student life through yearbooks, event programs, and student magazines, as well as class reunions of college alumni. Most of the records were created or accumulated during the years of the college's existence (1909-1973), although some records (such as the alumni class reunion booklets) appear to have been added at a later date because they relate to the the college.

The fonds is arranged into six series according to documentary form or activity. Several files and items are not part of any series, as they do not relate to a common activity or share a documentary form. Records are mostly textual and principle documentary forms include registers of admissions and grades, yearbooks, academic calendars, and alumni class reunion booklets.

Her purpose was to document the kinds of collaborative processes that occurred as the exhibit planning progressed in order to identify a model from which other museums working with communities might benefit.
