Elrid Gordon Young fonds

Fonds consists of sensitive material regarding chemical warfare. These papers include correspondence, research, reports, notebooks, articles, and manuals. Also included is an unpublished manuscript titled "Adventures of a Chemist in Search of Poisons" written by Dr. Young. The manuscript tells of some of his experiences during his twenty-five years as a forensic chemist.

Frank Dawson Adams fonds

Fonds consists of ten notebooks, a file of correspondence, and photographs and negatives of landscapes, geological samples and group pictures taken in Europe and Canada. Many of the records were created during a geological survey of Canada undertaken by Frank Dawson Adams and W.A. Carlyle.

Gass Family Postcard Collection

Collection contains postcards written and collected by the Gass family of Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia. The postcards are primarily of Nova Scotia and some, but not all, have handwritten notes. There are also postcards of Montreal, New York, Washington and Victoria. The majority are written to or from Clare Gass.

Letter from Jonathan Sewell to his daughters, Maria and Henrietta

Item is a letter (1828) from Jonathan Sewell to his daughters, Maria (the eldest) and Henrietta, addressed care of their uncle, Stephen Sewell, in Montreal. Sewell describes the recent departure of Lord and Lady Dalhousie and exhorts his daughters to travel by steamboat and meet him at Three Rivers, which he calls "The Modern Seat of Science, Literature & Fashion."

The fonds includes Linda Moore's papers and files relating to her work as director of Neptune Theatre in Halifax. The fonds includes designs and annotated construction plans and photos of the theatre; annotated scripts, photos, and production notes from Neptune shows; correspondence and interview texts; video and audio footage of productions and auditions. There is also a substantial volume of material relating to the world premier production of Dracula: a Chamber Musical.

Oland and Son fonds

The Archives of Oland and Son Limited consists of records created by Oland and Son Limited and its affiliated companies. Some of the companies changed names after Oland and Son sold its brewing assets to John Labatt Limited. Records for these companies are included as well. Records range from 1867 to 1989, but were predominiately created between 1950 and 1971.

The Archives of Oland and Son and Affiliated Companies include a wide variety of materials, including administrative records, financial records, correspondence, photographs, advertising and marketing materials, beer production files, sales records, and legal documents. Administrative records typically include meeting minutes, annual reports, memorandums, surveys, and studies or reports on various aspects of the brewing industry and the breweries operated by Oland and Son. Beer production files typically include brewing books, yeast log books, fermentation schedules, production reports, and other records that document the beer production process. The Archives contains a large amount of correspondence between Oland and Son and its affiliated companies and various businesses, government agencies, associations, and individuals from across the Maritimes and around the world. Financial records typically include financial statements, cost reports, comparative statements, general ledgers, valuations, audit reports, and other records documenting the financial position of the various companies. Extensive advertising and marketing files exist, including advertising contracts and schedules, proofs and sketchs, reports and proposals, and budgets. The Archives also has extensive sales records documenting the sale of beer across the Maritimes, Quebec, and parts of the United States and the Caribbean. The Archives also contains hundreds of photographs and blueprints of the factories, factory equipment, and the Bluenose II.

The Alan and Blanche Lund Fonds
