Reginald Harold Greaves fonds

The fonds consists of items that belonged to Reginald Harold Greaves when he was living and working near Prince Rupert. It includes photographs of Port Edward town site, Falls River and dam construction, Port Essington, Brown's Mill, and travel through the Rockies. It also includes correspondence, postcards, pamphlets about Port Edward and Prince Rupert, maps of Port Edward, Prince Rupert, maps of water powers in Manitoba, Alberta and Saskatchewan, blueprints of the Prince Rupert Hydro Electric Company Falls River Develt, proposed power plants and transmission lines, and power house Ambursen dam and pipeline.

The fonds consists of photographs, slides, negatives, maps, and textual records created and gathered by Gladys Young Blyth. These contain local scenes such as lighthouses, totem poles, Seafest activities, fish boats, crab traps, North Pacific Cannery, Kwinitsa Station, and the seaplane base at Seal Cove. The maps and sketches are of Kitselas, Port Essington, Union Passage and Tuwartz Inlet, Otter Passage to Bonilla Island, Work Channel, and a copy of the plan of the Kit-Kah-Tla Indian Reserves Coast District, 1891-1892. Her reference notes refer to the Hudson's Bay Company, First Nations, Grand Trunk Pacific Railway, the pictograph at Tyee, and the net building industry.

The fonds consists of textual records of Edward Ned Bolton. It includes business correspondence (1951-52); invoices for the Essington Fish Camp and Cassiar Packing Company Ltd. (1949-1966); a provincial act, agenda, correspondence, minutes, and annual reports for the Provincial Advisory on Indian Affairs in British Columbia (1942-1969); a receipt book for H. Brew, Haysport (1957), and miscellaneous documents (1966-1980) including an assessment notice (1969), salmon price negotiations list (1980), and letterhead for Port Essington Special Reserve, Native Brotherhood of B.C. bearing Edward's name, and the Indian Inquiry Committee.

The fonds consists of BC Provincial Police day books from Port Essington, (July to Dec 1908, 1910- 1916) which describe complaints, arrests, and reports, and also includes daily weather and steamship arrival and departures. Includes fishery record ledgers of license holders (1911 - 1912) in the Skeena River District listed by cannery (Balmoral, Claxton, Oceanic, British America, Inverness, Carlise, North Pacific, Cunningham, Dominion, Cassiar, Skeena River Commerical, Alexandria) and includes court cases and cash receipts. The 1908 court records lists convicting judges C.J. South , George B. Baillie, J.T. Williams, and E. Lorenz. Includes a letter book (January 1908 to July 1916) which contains outgoing correspondence concerning police and fishery reports, correspondence to government agents William Manson and J.H. McMullin, chief constables William H. Vickers, T.G. Wynn, W. Owen, and Ernest Gammon, reports to the Commissioner of Fisheries in Victoria by Provincial Fishery Overseers constables Alexander Forsyth and Kenneth F. Birchall, letters to Indian Agents Charles Clifton Perry in Metlakatla, and letters by George A. Shade, Deputy Mining Recorder. Also includes Lett's 1908 Indian & Colonial Almanac with reports, correspondence, and wanted criminals, and includes a police day book at the back. Names of constables include: C. Cullen, G. Fitzgerald, G.S. Flyn, J. Herring, Lewis, McDonald, George Leek, T.G. Wynn, Jones, Whitley, Phillipson, R. Leese, Rodgers, Gay, Carmichael, W. Owen, H. Abley.

Hardie family fonds

The fonds consists of memoirs written by Dorothy Hardie Amor about living in Port Essington in the 1920s, and photographs of Port Essington and the Skeena River taken during that time. The photographs include town scenes, people, fishing boats, school children, a one-room schoolhouse, community picnics aboard the "Northern Cross" mission boat with Reverend Rushbrook, and the 1925 fire. The pictures are accompanied by a Key written by Dorothy Amor.

Harris family fonds

The fonds consists of notes and photographs used by Ernest E. Harris to write his book Spokeshute. It includes transcribed diary notes written by his mother Agnes Harris about her journey from England to Canada and the first year that she lived at Port Essington. It also includes a postcard addressed to her from postmaster R. L. McIntosh of Prince Rupert. The photographs in the fonds depict people of all ages and ethnic backgrounds involved in activities such as picnics, education, weddings, and work in and around Port Essington. Other photographs depict ships, pile drivers, railways, buildings, fish canneries, mail dog trains, and Harris family vacations to other areas in the Northwest.
