This fonds consists of two medical journals--one containing records kept during his medical practice (14 April 1884 - 29 May 1892), the other recording daily transactions (1 October 1887 - 1 April 1892)--a scrapbook containing photographs, loose photographs, and glass negatives. It also contains a biography file containing photocopies of newspaper stories and photos of Dr. George Noyes, and a handmade scrapbook by his son Benjamin L. Noyes entitled "Historical & Scenic Volume, Grand Manan Island, Charlotte County, N.B."

This collection consists of records and information about education on Grand Manan Island collected from various sources. The administrative records include correspondence about the construction of the Grand Manan Regional High School, school board minutes, handbooks and financial statements.

Staff and student records include yearly reports on students and staff, retirement notices, prize lists and information about students who went on to post-secondary education. Copies of school publications--namely, School Post, Chatterbox, Mananooc News, and GMHS Review--are also included. Other printed materials include copies of the Education Act & Regulations, 1950-1963, press clippings and programmes from the official opening of the high school, the music festival and other events.

There are also records of the Grand Manan Teachers Association and the Home and School Association.

Included are:

• Reports of Committee Chairman of NBFHSAL presented at the AGM May 1961 and 1962 and the minutes of the same meetings.
• Grand Harbour Home and School Association first minute book, 2 November 1938 - May 1943.
• Board of School Trustees of Grand Manan Regional School District minute book, 24 June 1949 - 23 May 1960; and a second minute book for 13 June 1960 - 12 June 1967. (Note: 12 June 1967 was their final meeting.)

This collection contains technical books, papers, and manuscripts documenting the history of the electrification of Grand Manan. Also included is an NB Power Museum Kit, acquired in 1990, which contains a history of the electrification of the Province of New Brunswick. There is also an NB Power calendar for 1994.

This collection contains the record books kept in operating the businesses and correspondence related to the business of smoking herring and marine repairs. There is a sectional Aeronautical chart of Boston (V-10), n.d.; blueprints of the barge "Minca" built for the Ministry of War, 1944; a Lee Wilcox poem; newspaper clipping about the replica of the schooner "Bluenose"; work orders for the annual refit of the patrol boat "Gull Light," 1970.

This collection contains diaries and reports of weather, visitors, the times when the light was lit and turned off, and the length of time operating each day. The records were kept by the Grand Harbour lighthouse keepers from 1949-1960. There are also blank forms of Hand Horn or Fog Bell Returns.

This collection contains tintypes, dating from 1875 to 1920. It also contains many studio photographs mounted on cardboard and prints on photographic paper. There are also photo albums that have tintypes and mounted photos. Many of the images are scenes of Grand Manan Island.

This collection contains the attendance registers from 1968 onward. Series of registers for the smaller community schools cease as the schools were closed. In 1968 the Department of Education changed the format of the registers. They record student names, attendance, and occasional comments by teachers.

There are registers from the following villages although not all series are complete: District #1 North Head, beginning 1907; District #2 Castalia, beginning 1919; District #3 Woodward’s Cove, beginning 1923; District # Grand Harbour, beginning 1892; District #5 Seal Cove, beginning 1934; District #6 White Head, beginning 1923; District #7 Wood Island, beginning 1929; and District #9 Deep Cove, beginning 1926."

This is a collection of newspaper articles, magazine articles, letters, stories, and histories relating to Machias Seal Island lightstation and bird sanctuary. There are articles concerning the boundary dispute between the Canadian and United States governments over ownership of the Island and a computer printout of the International Court of Justice Case Summaries Judgement of 12 October 1984 concerning ownership.

This collection contains announcements, newspaper clippings, and brochures describing projects of the Grand Manan Rotary Club. A list of projects for 1997 is included in box one, file 5.
