This fonds consists of business records for the stairbuilding business established by E. V. Wetmore in Saint John in the 1870s. It consists of a time book (1935-1938) that records the names of employees, the number of hours worked, and the wages paid; an account ledger (1930-1945) that records the names of the customers, their place of residence, the amount charged, and the method of payment (cash, cheque, contra account, note); and an 1892 catalogue for E. V. Wetmore & Sons. A pamphlet on curling and a programme for a dinner in honour of the 1938 Scottish curling team are also included.

Two photographs, one each of a group of men attending the 1930 Canadian Construction Association conference (Wetmore was president of the Saint John branch) and of a group of men in a school (ca. 1914), were transferred to the Photographic Section.

The fonds contains a copy of the deed from Samuel Gosline to the trustees of the public burying ground for the residents of Smiths Creek, dated 26 August 1850. Also included is a list of subscribers in connection with the clearing and fencing of the cemetery land (1853).

The fonds contains records of the Royal Progressive Conservative Association for the months leading up to the nominating convention held in September 1960. It includes correspondence, minutes of meetings, and detailed lists of members of the organizing committees for each polling district.

The scrapbook contains newspaper clippings from local papers about local events. Many record Scribner family events, weddings, awards and births. Others include stories about ferries on the St. John River, murder, and other historical events in the Kingston, Kings County area.

The fonds contains 3 volumes of accounts, 1882-1912, in which the income and expenses of Lone Water Farm are recorded in detail. The operations of the scows are included in the farm accounts. There is also a journal, 1897-1904, which includes narrative entries about the business of the farm, the weather and social events.

This fonds consists of John C. Price's account book, 1866-1874, for groceries and drygoods. Customers are named and their purchases listed.

This fonds documents the personal and political activities of Sir George Eulas Foster. It includes travel diaries, weekly diaries, notebooks of political speeches, thought books (temperance, crime, religion, Canadian history), a few pieces of correspondence, lecture notes (League of Nations), speeches, manuscripts on historical subjects, and published articles on historical and political themes.

This fonds consists of a petition to the Lt. Governor and the government of New Brunswick.

This fonds includes two volumes: "Reminiscences and notes of a lifetime", 1854-1887; and a scrapbook, 1880-1907, regarding Saint John and New Brunswick issues, both created by George Frederick Harding

The fonds includes documents relating to approximately 300 civil cases, as well as extensive files on non-litigated land transactions, debt collections, and estate administration. Included is particularly interesting material on the legal aspects of constructing the railway through Kings County. While there are no criminal law files, there is considerable documentation arising from the role as clerk of the peace. Although the geographical focus is Kennebecasis Valley, other counties included are Albert, Queens and St. John.
