This collection consists of a small notebook or diary in which Fannie Fox recorded information about the Fox family's trip by car from Fredericton, New Brunswick to Flanders, Ontario via Montreal, Kingston, Toronto, London, and various points in the states of Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Oregon (1925). There are also genealogical notes on the Fox family, a postcard dated 1920 from Fannie to Stella, and a copy of a 1979 letter from Stella Fox to Heidi Hughes Little pertaining to Tommy Hughes, a child of the Middlemore Home who was adopted by the Brunswick W. Fox family. The letter also refers to Tommy's younger brother Ernest Hughes, who was adopted by a family on the north side of the St. John River opposite Fredericton, and to a third adopted child, Roland Summers.

Lastly, there is a daybook, dating from 1864-1867, which records purchases made at a general mercantile establishment located at Dumfries or Poquiock[Pokiok?], in York County. The name of the proprietor is unknown. The business sold household goods, foodstuffs, clothing, hardware, yard goods, lumber, shingles, and other merchandise. The daybook was used as a scrapbook, probably in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The photographs have been moved to the Photograph Section (P94).

The fonds contains seven invoices for building supplies.

This fonds consists of a single item -- a minute book containing minutes of meetings of the St. Marys Water and Fire Department and of its successor, the Devon Fire Department. The bye-laws of St. Marys Water and Fire Department are included with the minutes.

This register records the voluntary recruitment of 553 men in Charlotte County, New Brunswick, for service overseas during the First World War, dating from 27 September 1915, when a major recruiting drive was underway in the province, until 30 August 1917, the day after Prime Minister Robert Borden's Military Service Act became law. It may be a manuscript copy of the enlistment register in which names of volunteers were recorded initially during or immediately after recruitment rallies.

Each entry provides the recruit's name, place of residence, age at recruitment, marital status, date of enlistment, nationality, and the unit to which he was assigned. Most of the men were Canadians, natives of Charlotte County, N.B. Other places of residence include Albert, Charlotte, St. John, York, Carleton, and Kings counties in N.B.; Nova Scotia; Prince Edward Island; Ontario; United States of America (Maine); England; Ireland; Scotland; Newfoundland; Denmark; and Romania. A very few gave their nationality as Italian, Danish, Norwegian, Russian, or Syrian.

A few notations, such as "stopped by mother," "discharged," "wife objected" or "rejected," are recorded in the margins. Occasionally, the name of the recruiter -- H. V. Dewar, Herman G. Smith, or ? McDowell -- and the place of recuitment -- St. George, St. Andrews, Castalia -- are given. The entries are in several different hands.

On the record book's cover is printed "Hospital Admission & Discharge Book". The recruitment entries begin at the back of the book.

This fonds contains the administrative and financial records of Marysville Lodge No. 18 Knights of Pythias. It consists of general correspondence, correspondence with representatives of Grand Lodge, receipts, accounts, invoices, annual reports, reports of annual conventions, applications for membership, certificates of suspensions, membership cards, and lists of members.

It also includes materials relating to the constitution and by-laws, pamphlets and booklets pertaining to the Order's activities and rituals, circulars, and catalogues of official regalia.

This fonds consists mainly of the correspondence between Reuben and Isiah Webb. It deals chieflly with family news and farming matters.

This fonds documents the activities of the York County (NB) Constituency Council of the CCF between 14 July 1944 and 13 September 1947. It includes a record book containing minutes of meetings, accounts of payments and expenditures, and pledges and donations for the Campaign Fund. There is also a file of miscellaneous CCF-related items that includes notices and agendas of meetings for the York County Constituency Council, financial statements, a letter from the Upper Hainesville CCF Club with an attached list of officers' and members' names, financial statements, and newspaper clippings. There is also a four-page leaflet, published by the federal Progressive Conservative Party, entitled "Let the record speak".

This fonds consists of a single item, a photocopy of a patent issued by the Patent Office for the Dominion of Canada to Charles Corey Wiggins, of Wiggins Mill or Wiggins Mills, York County, New Brunswick, for wood sawing machines, dated 28 April 1914.

This fonds consists of the administrative records of the Canterbury Women's Institute and includes correspondence; minutes of meetings; hospital bed rental records; treasurer's book and other financial records; an annual report for 1964-1965; Branch of Honour scrapbook; notes relating to the founding of the Canterbury branch; and lists of officers, convenors, and programmes.
