The fonds consists of 26 photographs of Northern Alberta and Northwest Territories including views of settlements, rivers, lakes, agriculture, industry, and the people of the region. The fonds also includes a scrapbook entitled, "From the Land of the Midnight Sun" containing 145 photographs of settlements, rivers, lakes, agriculture, industry, and the people of the region. The photographs in the scrapbook appear to have been taken during a trip up the Mackenzie River to Fort Macpherson and includes numerous images of First Nations Peoples of the region. Footage includes lakes, mountains and glaciers in the Lake Louise area, Chateau Lake Louise, Moraine Lake Lodge, Canadian Pacific Railroad Spiral Tunnels at Kicking Horse Pass with train (three steam engines), Takakkaw Falls and Emerald Lake in Yoho National Park, Royal Canadian Mounted Policeman (RCMP) and woman outside RCMP building in [Banff] , and black bears beside cars. People from an unknown family, principally a woman, appear from a distance in various scenes. Good footage of glaciers showing size and locations in 1948.

The fonds consists of travel photography and corresponding information compiled by Russell to accompany slide shows as well as extensive coverage of various sites and events across Alberta. These images include Medicine Hat, Albertan industry (specifically the Medicine Hat clay industry), churches of various denominations (including the Al Rashid Mosque prior to its move to Fort Edmonton), Edmonton, Calgary, the Calgary and Medicine Hat Stampedes, sports and recreation, and national/provincial parks. International travel photography is also included, such as images from pre-Revolution Cuba and Cold War-era Berlin. The slides also show PRPA field trips, conventions, and photographic lessons as well as title slides created by Russell for use in her slide shows.

The fonds consists of a transcript copy of an interview created and conducted by Mildred Phillips in 1988 with Oscar Green. The transcript documents Oscar Green's life as a boat hand, and trapper in Northern Alberta and the Northwest Territories in the 1920's and 1930's. The transcript details lakes, rivers, and modes of travel throughout the region.

The fonds consists of magazines, magazine articles and newspaper clippings, photographs of family and friends, and airplanes, flights and destinations, certificates, programs and invitations, correspondence, presentations and speeches, photograph albums containing over 550 photographs of airplanes, aerials views, aboriginals, and locations in Northern Alberta and the Northwest Territories including Aklavik and Great Bear Lake, and two transcription discs of CKUA programming about Northwest Industries Limited.

The fonds consists of images of scenes in Alberta acquired by Ian Patterson including Big Island on the North Saskatchewan in 1926, Athabasca Landing Ferry in 1926, Peace River Highway in 1931, a ferry on the North Saskatchewan River at Strawberry Creek in 1931, the Town of Athabasca in 1932, the Ghost River Dam in 1938, and the Calgary-Edmonton Highway near Bowden in 1938. The fonds also contains copies of photographic postcards acquired by Ian Patterson dating from the early part of the 20th century. The postcards feature images of Alberta including the Red Deer River Crossing of the Canadian National Railways (CNR) at Drumheller, the Hanna CNR station, the Athabasca River Bridge, the Beaver Bridge at Bonnyville, "Big Eddy", "Steveville", the CNR Station at Alliance, the St. Albert Hotel, Saunders Creek, a pack train at Edson, a bridge a Wabamun, the CNR depot at Jasper, the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) at Lethbridge, the Athabasca River bridge, the Brazeau Collieries at Nrodegg, and the Town of Wayne.

The fonds consists of two photograph albums containing 131 photographs from across Alberta including Peace River, Grande Prairie, Brulé, Red Willow Valley, Pouce Coupe, Spirit River, Jasper National Park, Crowsnest Pass; images include surveyors, camps, horses, views of various towns, buildings, creeks and rivers, Alberta-British Columbia boundary markers, mountains, water falls, riverboats, and the Provincial Mental Hospital at Ponoka and its nurses.
