John Philip Evans fonds

The fonds consists of shares for the Moose Lake and Athabasca Oil Co. Ltd., a comical curling challenge sent by Frank Falconer Sr. to J.P.Evans, and photographs of the following subjects: J.P.Evans, Agnes Evans, Anwyl and Dorothy Evans, [1936-37] and 1937-38 hockey teams, 1926 Boy Scout Camp at Baptiste Lake, scows, tracking, Stopping Creek Bridge, new cenotaph-1932, Dominion Day-1932, Hudson's Bay manager's house, AB Provincial Police/RCMP barracks, Grand Union Hotel, dog team at Parker's Store, Lessard's Store as Provincial Bldg., old Legion bldg, Imperial Bank of Canada, bridges over the Tawatinaw Creek, 1952 opening of bridge over the Athabasca River, and the ferry. The artifacts are examples of pottery made by the Athabasca Clay Products between 1964-1968. Also included is the book "Edmonton, Alberta's Capital", 1914.

Herman Leicht fonds

The fonds consists of some of Mr. Leicht's mayoralty correspondence, materials on the relocation of Athabasca University, statistics on Athabasca, Alberta's 75th Anniversary, blueprints and plans for Athabasca Terraces, information on Athabasca history including: letters regarding Captain Charles Dufferin Allison Barber, Athabasca's 1915 Agricultural Fair, and the Northern Transportation Company steamboat registry. The subjects of the photographs include: Trail North Foundation June, 1978 trip down the Athabasca River, Kurt George (Dick) Naumann, Upper Wells, Herman Leicht, Lee Melsness, German Cabin, 1952 construction of the Athabasca Bridge, 1940's flood, Feb., 1966 Klondike Karavan trip, Friends of Athabasca University: Ken Chapman, Dr. Sam Smith, Doreen Leicht and MLA Frank Appleby, Egge's Stopping House (1906), York boat on Athabasca River (1906), Athabasca Landing (1906), boat "The Beaver", steamboat, Slave Lake (1912), and the Big Smoky River. Also included are the 1976 and 1977 programs for the Athabasca and District Music Festival and an Athabasca Creamery calendar for 1943.

George Lucien Godel fonds

The fonds consists of materials created by George Godel of Athabasca between 1942 and 1980 and consists of George Godel's annual report on agriculture in the Athabasca district, 1942-1956 (incomplete), newspaper articles, and agricultural studies by Godel. The fonds also includes minutes of meetings of the Athabasca District Home and Farm Development Association.

This is a revised edition of portions of "The Unexploited West" compiled by Ernest J.Chambers.
