This fonds consists of one scrapbook that contains correspondence, telegrams, pictures, an article and newspaper clippings. The correspondence, telegrams and newspaper clippings are primarily related to the successful election results for Barbara Hanley. The pictures include two photos of Hanley and one group photograph. The article was written by Hanley with regard to the subject of civic responsibility, for a secondary school magazine. The newspaper clippings are from local and national papers. The successful election and re-election of Barbara Hanley as Mayor of Webbwood is a significant part of Canadian Womens' History, because she is the first woman Mayor in Canada, and she held that position for eight consecutive terms. The records of this fonds are also important because no files were preserved by the town for her time in office.
The fonds consists of records that are directly related to the organization of Local 187. The records include: original charters for Locals 187 and 192, their constitution and by-laws, reports, minutes, convention proceedings, and collective agreements booklets. These documents provide some insight to the operation of union locals that represented Railway Carmen in Northeastern Ontario, and their position within the context of the larger organization. When the Canadian Division joined CAW, individual locals of the Rail Division gained more prominence at the national level.
The Buchanan family fonds consists mostly of correspondence, invitations, photographs, books and other types of documents. The records pertain to the years that George and Lilla Buchanan were residents of Sudbury. Most of the correspondence is between Lilla Buchanan and her family and friends. There are also letters of congratulations for the appointment of George Buchanan as King's Counsel. A program, photographs and a newspaper clipping document the Royal Visit to Sudbury on June 5, 1939. The photographs of the fonds depict the Buchanan family and their friends. There are also 11 copies of photographs depicting Sudbury in the early 1900s, people of the community, and early railway construction.
The Cleve Kidd fonds consists of notes and correspondence, negotiation files, reports, speeches, photographs. Constitutions, articles, printed material and newspaper clippings are also included. The professional achievements of Cleve Kidd in the labour movement, and concerns at the personal level from 1940-1990, are found in the records. His role as arbitrator and conciliator in the field of labour and industrial relations is well documented. The records provide insight to the activities of Canadian unions working in conjunction with labour groups in the Caribbean and the United States. The photographs of the fonds depict his work for USWA on the international stage. The proceedings of the negotiations between the Canadian Pacific Airlines and Trans-Canada Airlines are also well documented in the fonds.
The records of the fonds include materials that are related to the 1978 strike by USWA members, and include: reports, maps, notes, photographs, newsletters, pamphlets, correspondence, graphics, posters, newspapers, magazines and newspaper clippings. Some files of the fonds concern the Lily Creek development in Sudbury, and consist of reports, notes and newspaper clippings. The fonds contains files from a group of women called The Wives Supporting the Strike. The Citizen's Strike Support Committee are well represented by the records.

The remaining correspondence regards the publication of an article. The notes, printed material and newspaper clippings are also related to women and politics. There is a copy of the draft and also a copy of the completed article entitled "Feminist Politics: The Feminist Party of Canada". Although the papers of this fonds do not reflect all of the professional activities of Dr. Zaborszky, they attest to her research achievements in the area of women and politics, and also to her personal involvement in the FPC
This fonds contains the only remaining records for Elmer Sopha. The fonds consists primarily of notes and transcripts of speeches delivered at various gatherings between 1965 and 1980, and also transcripts of daily radio commentaries aired at a local Sudbury station. The records also consist of transcripts of articles that Sopha wrote for journals and for weekly columns in Northern Life newspaper, as well as correspondence. These documents provide some insight to the private and public life of Elmer Sopha, and they emphasize his opinions on a variety of subjects. The documents also attest to the fact that Sopha was a respected lawyer and a popular guest speaker at numerous gatherings throughout Ontario. After he left the legislature in 1971, Sopha devoted time to interests outside of his law practice. His oratorical and critical skills are well represented in these records. The correspondence consists mainly of letters written by Sopha to members of the Provincial and Federal Legislatures, and their responding letters. The records of this fonds are a testimony to the dedication of Elmer Sopha to the cultural, economic and judicial concerns for Northern Ontario.
This fonds consists of daily appointments, calendars, correspondence, notes, reports, petitions, constituents' representations, documentation, press releases, newspaper clippings, and printed material. These records document the activities of Floyd Laughren as MPP for Nickel Belt, Deputy Leader and Health Critic for the Ontario New Democratic Party, and as Chair of the Standing Committee on Government Agencies (1996). It also contains files on the different municipalities of Nickel Belt. The subjects of the records concern: the economy of the region, labour issues, transportation, tourism, and hospital services. The records for 1994 and 1998 give a detailed account of the last few years of the political life of Floyd Laughren. They provide insight into the various obligations and activities of a Member of Provincial Parliament. The documents also present information about the economic, political and social makeup of the Nickel Belt constituency.
Composé entre autres de procès-verbaux, documents adminsitratifs, rapports annuels, correspondance, affiches, photographies, "L'orignal décahaîné" et de documentation, malgré le fait que pour certaines années il y ait peu de documents, le fonds d'archives de l'AEF, témoigne des activités et interventions de cette association étudiante. Au même titre que la publication de l'association "L'orignal décahaîné", les procès-verbaux de l'association présentent un éventail des préoccupations de l'association et de ses membres, tandis que la correspodance et les procès-verbaux et documents afférents des différents comités de l'administration de l'université nous renseignent sur le rôle et les efforts de représentation de l'association au sein de l'université. De plus, la correspondance témoigne des liens que l'association maintien avec les autres associations ou groupements étudiants tout comme elle nous informe sur les efforts de représentation et sur les interventions de l'association auprès de divers acteurs politiques et culturels de la scène régionale, provinciale et même fédérale sont bien illustrés par la correspondance. . Le volet culturel des activités de l'association est aussi bien documenté par les différentes affiches, coupures de presse et documents de gestion de ces activités.
Composé de procès-verbaux, rapports annuels, bulletins d'information du groupe de bénévoles, dossiers de presse et albums de photographies, ce fonds d'archives nous renseigne sur les différentes activités et réalisations de l'Auxiliaire de l'Hôpital Laurentien de Sudbury. Les documents témoignent de l'implication des bénévoles dans le milieu de la santé et ce, plus particulièrement à l'Hôpital Laurentien. Les activités internes du groupe et son rayonnement à l'intérieur du milieu de la santé, tant au niveau régional qu'au niveau provincial, sont aussi documentés. De plus, les documents du fonds d'archives des auxilaires bénévoles, nous renseignent sur la restructuration du milieu hospitalier de la région de Sudbury.
