The fonds consists of three series: Series 1: Emmanuel Evangelical Association Church, 1777-1922, consists of baptism and burial registers, 1777-1864, a marriage register, 1864-1901, and minutes of the Quarterly Conference, 1840-1913, the Building Committee, 1902-1907, and the Congregational Business Meeting, 1870-1917. There are also minutes of the Women's Mission and Aid Society, 1903-1918, the Sunday School Worker's Conference, 1914-1921, the Senior Young People's Alliance, 1891-1915, and the Junior Young People's Alliance, 1908-1922. A series of annual reports, 1903-1917, forms part of the series. Series 2: Emmanuel Evangelical Church, 1895-1946, contains minutes of the Quarterly Conference, 1913-1938, the Building Committee, 1938-1942, the Church Extension Committee, 1937-1938, the Board of Finance, 1909-1942, the Home Department, 1919-1946, and the War Services Board, 1943-1946. There are also minutes of the Woman's Auxiliary and Missionary Society, 1918-1946, the Sunday School Board, 1922-1940 and the Sunday School Class, 1939-1945. There are records of Youth Groups, and of the choirs, Mission Circle and Ladies Adult Bible Class, as well as annual reports. Series 3: Emmanuel Evangelical United Brethren Church, 1918-1968, contains minutes of the Quarterly Conference, 1938-1953, the Trustee Board, 1945-1959, the Annual Congregational Meeting, 1918-1959, and the Church Administrative Council, 1942-1959. There are minutes of the Woman's Auxiliary and Women's Society for World Service, 1946-1959, the Sunday School Board, 1954-1963 and SS Classes, 1923-1961, the Executive of the Evangelical League for Christian Endeavour, 1942-1948, and other social groups.

Fonds consists of records of St. John's Presbyterian Church, Cornwall, including deed to the property, and correspondence from George Brown, personal correspondence of MacNish, including his call to St. John's, correspondence relating to his unsuccessful attempt to secure a place at the University of Toronto, and correspondence relating to his death and the death of his wife. There is also material on his lectures in Gaelic, and a newspaper controversy to which he was aparty, concerning the Gaelic tongue. In addition, there are some sermon outlines, notes on his reading, and one typescript essay, 'On the pleasurable'.
