The fonds contains the surviving records of John R. Johns. It includes approximately 890 sermon transcripts written and used by Johns in Canada (Silver Plains, MacGregor, Winnipeg, Morris, MB; Central Butte, SK; Victoria, Vancouver, BC) and the United States (Lake Crystal, Little Falls, Mankato, Minneapolis, Robbinsdale, Waseca, MN; Newark, NJ; Seattle, WA; Due West, SC; also possible TX and CA locations) primarily in the early and mid twentieth century (1912 – 1973). These sermon transcripts are usually complete transcripts rather than outlines. The majority of the sermons do not have either dates or locations associated with them (72% without dates, 86% without locations). Some of the sermons are revised versions of one another. The fonds also includes approximately 127 prayers written and used by Johns. Many of these prayers appear in various editions – both written and typed copies of most prayers exist, with minor or no alterations. Most of the ephemera pertains to the custodial history of the Johns sermons, particularly relating to their treatment by a Grade 7 class at Pipe Creek Christian School (TX) in 2004. Some biographical documents chiefly originating from members of Johns’s extended family are also found in the ephemera.

The surviving records of Rev. Samuel Crothers Murray include a manuscript entitled 'Historical Sketch of the Portage la Prairie Indian School and Mission', dating from 1886 to 1936 (as well as a photocopy of the same).

The surviving records of Mary Rose include: an excerpt (typed copy) from her personal diary, detailing her trip from Brockville to Minnedosa in 1880.

The surviving records of Rev. C. Douglas Rupp include: Sermons, dating from 1953 to 1974; Programs and orders of service from Northminster Memorial United Church (Flin Flon), St. Stephen's Broadway United Church (Winnipeg), Trinity United Church (Portage la Prairie) and MacGregor United Church (MacGregor), dating from 1953 to 1974; and Sermons, radio devotions, prayers and orders of service from special anniversaries, Easter, and University Chapel, dating from 1955 to 1968.

The surviving records of Rev. John Semmens include: a Manuscript entitled 'Notes on Personal History', documenting his life and work, dating from 1850 to 1915; a Duplicate of the Manuscript entitled 'Under Northern Lights: Notes on Personal History' (excerpt of), dating from 1850 to 1875; an Article entitled 'Methodist History-Winnipeg District', date unknown; a Tribute to Rev. Semmens (copy of), authored by John Maclean, dating from 1921; and Biographical clippings.

The surviving records of Rev. Andrew Stewart include: Sermons (copies only), dates unknown; Biographical material including historical profiles, clippings and correspondence, dating from 1921 to 1986; a Notebook containing names, addresses and phone numbers, dating from 1923; a Travel log and letters pertaining to Rev. Stewart's travels in England, dating from 1921; Photographs of Mrs. Stewart and son Jack (dating from 1933), and of Rev. Stewart in Darwin's back yard in England (dating from 1921); Genealogical information on the Stewart family, date unknown; a stamp and ink bottle used by Rev. Stewart, date unknown; and Photographs, dating from 1893 to 1927 (photos exist as the 'Stewart Family Collection' and are described in a photographic finding aid titled the same).

The surviving records of Rev. Eugene Walters and family include: Biographical profiles of Rev. Eugene Walters, Mrs. Eva (Needham) Walters, and Janet Adelaide Walters, dates unknown; Newspaper clipping (copy of), from the Winnipeg Free Press regarding the North Winnipeg Hospital, dating from June 17, 1911; and Photographs (copies of), pertaining to the Walters family, the North Winnipeg Hospital, and Crescent Congregational Church, dating from 1910 to 1934.

The surviving records of Rev. George Bryce include: Sermons and sermon fragments, dating from 1869 to 1915 (also some dates unknown); Pamphlets containing published sermons, discourse, and research presented to religious groups, congregations, literary and scientific societies, and men's groups, dating from 1895 to 1928; Manuscripts, notes and working drafts for various articles, dates unknown; Correspondence, dating from 1872 to 1924; and financial records, dating from 1878 to 1920.

The surviving records of Valerie Stubbs include: Sermons and addresses, dating from 1993 to 1994; Miscellaneous writings and articles, including Towards a new image of urban ministry' (1991), 'Towards a new paradigm for specialized urban ministry' (1992), 'Deaconesses challenge church dress code' (1994), 'The historical role of women in All Peoples Mission' (1994), and 'Celebrating Dolly Maguire' (date unknown); Material regarding North End Community Ministry, including an order of service, newsletter and report, dating from 1993; and reference material, including a resume/biography and photograph.

The records of Rev. William N. Higham include: Sermon condensations, dating from 1965 to 1989; and records pertaining to the induction service of Rev. Higham at King Memorial United Church, dating from 1965.
