Fonds consists of records related to the governance and activities of the Nanaimo Historical Society. Fonds is arranged in the following series 1) Executive records; 2) Sound recordings; 3) Nanaimo Local History Research group records; 4) Speeches and historical writings; 5) Register of residents; and 6) Photographs.

The fonds consists of correspondence sent and received by W.A. Wood with Henry MacLeod and J.M. Trutch while directing work on the B.C. Section of the Canadian Pacific Rail line.

Fonds consists of photographs of Wolf Mountain Mine including images of the underground workings, miners, heavy duty equipment, tools and surface views. Also includes an underground workings map.

Fonds consists of personal papers of the Willis family. Includes two agreements for sale for Section B of Lot 11, Block E, Nanaimo (1918, 1920), insurance papers, stock certificates, receipts from Acme Motors and correspondence related to the estate of Joseph Willis (1947).

Fonds consists of Frank Wood's account book for the Western Fuel Corporation's Employees Sick and Accident Fund and family photographs including eight views of a May 24 Parade, a group of people in front of St. Andrew's Manse, a group of people, including Thelma Harwood, in front of an unidentified building and a view of ships arriving at Newcastle Island.

Collection consists of videocassette recordings of various Shaw Cable Channel 4 programmes including: Plugged In, Cafe Canadian, Best of Island Country, On the Waterfront, Arts Now, The Advocates, Arts Digest, Battle of the Bands, Common Ground, DNE Comedy Show, Evening of Heart and Soul, Festival Cafe, Hour Town, In Conversation, Island Central, Island Originals, Off the Wall, Project Nanaimo, and Tidelines. Also includes considerable footage of the Marine Festival, parades, programme fillers, specials and many community, regional island events.

Collection consists of items associated with St. Andrew's Church including floorplans of the main floor and gallery and a sketch of the exterior, photographs of the church, the old and new manses and the dedication ceremony of the new manse, programmes for a production of the Messiah and Diamond Jubilee (1934) materials.

Fonds consists of fourteen notebooks of the work accomplished by Mildred Knowles in Harewood High School, including such subjects as Latin, French, Math, Physics, History, and English; revealing the prevailing curriculum requirements of early twentieth century British Columbia.

The fonds consists of minutes (1950-1961, 1964-1976) and a guest register (1965-1975) for the Mountain View PTA.

The fonds consists of receipts from Nanaimo businesses, organizations and taxation authorities (1901-1950), baptismal certificate, memorial card, and memorabilia of the Muir family.
