This series consists of records created, accumulated and used by Lorne Scott in 1996 as Minister of Saskatchewan Environment and Resource Management. The series also contains records created by Berny Wiens, Scott's predecessor in the portfolio.

The environment sub-series (Nos. 8 to 23) relate to air quality, the Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment, contaminated sites, environmental assessment, hazardous substances, mining, recycling, transmission lines, underground storage tanks, uranium, waste management and water. This series consists of the records of the Premier's Correspondence Unit for 1982 to 1985. This series contains correspondence addressed to the Premier from the public, outside organizations and other government agencies and copies of his response to their concerns regarding government programs and policies. The correspondence is filed by topic, with the major categories as follows: General; Defence; Economy; Government; Law; Resources and Development; Social Welfare; Economic Development; World Relations; History and Geography. Also included are magazine files, which contain publications sent to the Premier. These were also originally filed by topic. This series also contains invitations, congratulatory, condolence and thank you letters from the Premier and his responses to requests from individuals and organizations for special messages. Correspondence related to the Premier's role as MLA for Estevan constituency, Minister of Agriculture and member of the Crown Management Board is also included. This series includes personal and constituency records.

Itinerary Co-ordinator to the Premier series

This series consists of the records of the Itinerary Coordinator, responsible for co-ordinating the Premier's itinerary, travel arrangements, and tour. The Coordinator also handled invitations and requests for special messages, donations, and meetings with the Premier.

Speaking Engagements series

This series consists of records relating to Premier Devine and Mrs. Chantal Devine's speaking engagements. They spoke at functions including graduations, conventions, conferences, official openings, luncheons and dinners in Saskatchewan, across Canada and in the United States. The files in this series typically include details on arrangements, speaking notes and/or transcripts of speeches. Public and political records in this series are integrated within the files. The Saskatchewan Archives did not receive records relating to Devine's speaking engagements in 1990 and 1991.

Emmett Hall: Establishment Radical

This series consists of research material, interviews, draft manuscript chapters, proofs, correspondence with editors, transcripts, notes, diaries and appointment books associated with the research and writing of Gruending's 1985 edition of Emmett Hall: Establishment Radical. The book was recently (2005) revised and updated in a new publication.

Audio recordings form a substantial part of the series. File I.1 contains a list of interviews and subjects. File I.46 contains transcripts of interviews.

Promises to Keep: A Political Biography of Allan Blakeney

This series consists of research material, draft manuscript chapters, correspondence with publishers, interviews, transcripts, photographs, book reviews and promotional material associated with Gruending's book Promises to Keep: A Political Biography of Allan Blakeney published in 1990.

Audio recordings form a substantial part of the series. A list and ninety-one transcripts to interviews conducted for Promises to Keep have been added at File II.54 as a result of the description of sound recordings in 2002.
