This work provides a history of the Latin American Mission Program (LAMP) which was established by the Diocese of Charlottetown in Prince Edward Island in 1968. The publication also includes personal reminiscences and stories of 19 Islanders who traveled to the Caribbean and Central America as missionaries with LAMP.

York-Covehead United Church pastoral charge circuit registers : [1876-1918]

The fonds contains transcriptions of the baptismal, marriage and death registers of the Little York circuit registers from 1870 to 1918. Birth dates recorded date back to 1868. Death records date from 1896 to 1916. As well as names of child and parents and dates of birth and baptism, the baptismal records include occupation and address of parents. Marriage records include marital status of bride and groom, date and location of the marriage, names of witnesses, and minister officiating. The death register records place of residence, date of death and date and place of burial.

The collection consists of 34 portrait images comprised of 28 cabinet cards, 3 cartes-de-visites and 4 tintypes. There is also one death announcement card. Approximately half of the images are identified although identifications may be suspect in some cases. Those that are identified were residents of York in the nineteenth century. About half of the photographs were taken by C. Lewis or George H. Cook of Charlottetown, PEI.

The fonds consists primarily of letters written by Robert and Alberta Yates of Boston, Massachusetts to their daughter Alberta in Lot 46, Prince Edward Island as well as letters from Susanna Yates of Belfast, Ireland, to her son James. There are a few other letters to different members of the family, a notice of marriage for Archibald Buchanan and Mary S. Yates, a business card for Yates & Jones, Boston (1902), and six unidentified photographs which were mailed to Mrs. James Yates. The letters are primarily of a personal nature, outlining the activities of the Yates family and their friends. There is also a copy of a pamphlet entitled "Control of Insects and Diseases in Vegetable Gardens" from the War Time Production Series, 1940.

Wright family Bible fonds

This fonds consists of a Bible containing a volume of Psalms published in London in 1702. The Old and New Testaments are dated 1708 and were probably published in Amsterdam. The genealogical information concerns the Cambridge and Wright families. Photocopies from Christ's Hospital London relate to the admission of Thomas Wright.

World Day of Prayer (Summerside, P.E.I.) fonds

The fonds consists of one volume of minutes of the Summerside Women's United Missionary Meeting from 1916 to 1933 followed by the minutes of its successor, the annual World Day of Prayer from 1934 to 1999. The volume also contains some programs, receipts for offerings collected and newspaper clippings.

The World Day of Prayer is celebrated annually in over 170 countries around the world. Themes and writers of the services are chosen by the International Committee which meets every four years. In Canada, services are edited, printed and distributed by the Women's Inter-Church Council of Canada. In Summerside, Prince Edward Island, the World Day of Prayer grew out of the United Missionary Meeting held yearly by the Womens' Missionary Societies of the different Summerside churches. This group met every year since 1916 alternating amongst the member churches. In 1934 the annual meeting began coinciding with the World Day of Prayer.
