Anglican Church, Diocese of Yukon fonds

The fonds consists primarily of the administrative and operational textual records of the Anglican Church, Diocese of Yukon. The fonds also includes photographs, maps and plans, a film and a sound recording. The fonds has been organized into the following six series: Diocesan Records; Parish Records; Related Organizations; Reference Files; Maps and Publications; and Photographs. (See the finding aid for detailed descriptions.) The following six accessions are not in the finding aid. Accession 80/129 contains 22 images of the Old Log Church, scenes at Carcross, the visit of Princess Alexandra to Whitehorse, Sourdough Rendezvous, and old buildings in Whitehorse. Accession 81/16 contains financial records, correspondence, meeting minutes, and annual reports of St. Paul's Anglican Church in Dawson City. There are also papers of various organizations within the church including the Sunday school, Women's Auxiliary, Chancel Guild, and Boys' League. Also in this accession are some records of St. Andrew's United Church in Dawson City, St. Barnabas Church in Moosehide, Church of Christ the Pioneer in Bear Creek, and the Good Samaritan Hospital of Dawson City. Accession 82/6 contains two booklets titled "The Consecration of Rev. Ronald Curry Ferris to be Bishop in the Church of God", Diocese of Yukon, Quinquagesima, 1981 and "The Installation of the Rt. Rev Ronald Curry Ferris as Ninth Bishop of Yukon in Christ Church Cathedral", Whitehorse, Y.T., Diocese of Yukon, Quinquagesima, 1981. Accession 84/72 contains a handmade Christmas card consisting of a pen and ink drawing of St. Paul's Anglican log church in Dawson City, a b&w photograph of the 1902 St. Paul's frame building, a brief hand-lettered history of St. Paul's Church by James R.H. Warren. There are also four b&w photographs of the card as described above. Accession 88/24 contains a six paged typed manuscript by Bishop Tom Greenwood of his recollections about his ministry in the Yukon. There are also 38 b&w and 9 colour images of the Greenwoods, various Anglican Church workers, Chooutla School staff, Old Crow parishioners, Camp Gikhychon, congregation at Minto, McCabe, and the refinery at Haines Junction. Accession 88/128 contains St. Paul's Hostel Matron's book and the Minute book of the Diocesan Board of the Anglican Church Women's Auxiliary, Diocese of Yukon.

Arctic Brotherhood (Whitehorse Camp No. 12) fonds

The fonds consists of the records of the Whitehorse Camp of the Arctic Brotherhood, 1901-1903 and includes Minute books, 1901-1903; a cash book, 1901-1902; membership applications, 1901-1902; incoming and outgoing correspondence, 1901-1902; financial records, 1901-1903; constitution and by-laws, 1902; membership application forms and a blank membership card. The minute book begins with the installation of the Camp, its charter members, first officers etc. and covers the application, nomination and subsequent election of new members; financial matters, dues bills etc; correspondence received and answered and other internal business. The cash book and assorted financial records provide a relatively accurate picture of the Camp's financial situation.

Association of Professional Engineers of Yukon Territory collection

The collection consists of 37 certificates of membership to the Association, 1956-1966. They may have been recalled, or were part of the registrar's files. The certificates include the name of the engineer, and the names of the President, vice-president or secretary and the Registrar of the Association.

The fonds consists of original textual records containing newspaper clippings, programs, a menu, invitations, correspondence and personal notes pertaining to the construction of the Alaska Highway in the Yukon, ca. 1942-1980. The fonds also contains original photographs of the opening ceremonies of the Alaska Highway, 1942.

The fonds consists of photographs of the construction of the Whitehorse Dam, a tourist information booth at Whitehorse, Yukon, Dawson City and Whitehorse scenes, the last voyage of the sternwheeler S.S. Keno, Rendezvous or Discovery Days, the Catholic Mission at Burwash Landing, Pelly River barge, Montague Roadhouse, the last ferry at Carmacks, a graveyard and other views from about 1957-1965. Also included in the fonds is a copy of the last photograph taken of Will Rogers and Wiley Post, images of Canadian Pacific Airlines staff houses, Miles Canyon, and the store and dormitory at Engineer Mine.

Bill Thompson fonds

The fonds consists of home movies taken by Bill Thompson during trips in and out of the Yukon, and of events from his life in the Yukon, 1959-1968. Trips include flying Toronto to Thunder Bay, driving Whitehorse to Edmonton, flying over Greenland, Scotland, Niagara Falls, flying from Dawson City to Whitehorse, and Kluane Lake. There is footage of the construction of the Dempster Highway, and the Royal Visit to Whitehorse and Dawson City.

The collection contains photographs and copies of articles and newspaper clippings relating to Edith Josie of Old Crow, Yukon. Includes a copy of "Best of Edith Josie" published in 1965, Canadian newspaper clippings (1972) and a copy of an Alaska Magazine article on Edith Josie written by Flo Whyard in 1973.

Bob Cameron fonds

The fonds consists of two accessions: the first (80/135) is a series of slides Bob Cameron compiled for use in his 1978 presentation on "Early Yukon Aviation". The slides show the variety of airplanes that were used in northern flying services, and Yukon aviation scenes. Photographers of the slides are Bob Cameron, George McLeod, A. Fraser, D. C. Hosking, G. R. Cameron, and Mr. Harbottle. The second accession (2001/111) consists of 72 negatives. Twelve of the negatives were taken by a professional photographer and capture the wedding of Helen Lucille Cameron and Gerald A. Braden. The remaining negatives, taken by Bob Cameron, are images of White Pass and Yukon Route (WP&YR) trains, tractors, cars, carts, trucks and boats, including the Tarahne and Julia B., First Nations Spirit Houses and views of Dawson City and Whitehorse.
