Fonds consists of a diary relating to the Weir family farming activities in the Metchosin area on Vancouver Island, British Columbia from 1866 to 1870. This diary was written by Adam and Hugh Weir, the sons of Robert Weir. There is an edited transcript of this diary prepared by Ronald J. Weir in January 1974, with two maps showing property. Fonds also includes: records related to property from 1865, 1891, 1895; a transcript of a diary of a gold rush trip to the Cassiar area by Adam Weir in 1874; and genealogical notes on the Evans family.
