Emil Forrest fonds

The fonds consists of 655 original photographs from an album compiled by Forrest, 1898-1918. Subject matter includes the Trail of '98, roadhouses, sternwheelers, mining, mastodon tusks, a fishwheel, native people, Forrest and friends, wildlife, Skagway, Juneau, Fairbanks, Eagle City, Circle City, Nome, Nevada, Idaho, Alert Bay, Moosehide, Dawson City, Fort Yukon, Mayo and Whitehorse. Another 36 photographs depict Mt. Freegold and area, 1904 Dawson City hockey team, Carcross and area, 1936, river break-up at Dawson City, 1942, Hubbard Glacier area, Northern Airways Royal Mail airplane, Gulf of Alaska, Mt. Seattle, Mt. Steel, and Mt. Lucania from the air, and the Dominion Creek church congregation, 1904. Also included are 15 aerial photographs and maps used by Forrest. The textual records consist of correspondence and reports from his involvement with LaForma Gold Mines, 1932-1960. There are also recollections written by Forrest and scrapbooks compiled by Forrest. The two films were shot by Forrest in 1937 and capture Mayo, Keno, Elsa and Carmacks.

The collection consists of four photographs: one of Mary and Lazarus Charlie's wedding in Old Crow, Yukon, showing Joe and Myria Kay, Peter and Mary Charlie, Lydia Thomas, John Moses and Thomas Njootli. The other photos are shots of Peter Charlie and his family, the Lazarus Charlie family and an unidentified boating scene.

Ernest Brown fonds

The fonds consists of photographs of the work of various photographers including J. E. Lee and Sergeant Anderson, both members of the North West Mounted Police (NWMP). Most of the photographs were taken during the period 1902-1903 and primarily represents NWMP activities in the Whitehorse, Yukon area. Other subjects include Dawson City, First Nations people at various locations, NWMP barracks at Herschel Island, lumbering, NWMP patrols and group photographs, NWMP social times and leisure activity, sternwheelers and panoramic views of Whitehorse, the Whitehorse General Hospital, the NWMP compound and barracks, the police stores and officers' mess and Whitehorse Public School.

The fonds consists of copies of Ernest Keir's diary describing his trip from Wisconsin to Dawson City, Yukon and his adventures in the Klondike, March 1898 to June 1900, and copies of photographs he took or collected of the trip and the Klondike. The photographs depict scenes of Dyea, the Chilkoot Trail, Whitehorse Rapids, Lake Laberge, Dawson City, and the creeks.

The fonds consists of original photographs primarily of Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) patrols and scenic views in the north. It includes photographs of Pasley's fellow officers, First Nations people, boats, dog sleds and RCMP posts. Specific locations include Herschel Island, Ogilvie, New Rampart House, Porcupine River, Rampart (Alaska), Sixty Mile Post, Baillie Island (N.W.T.), Dawson City and Whitehorse, Yukon. The fonds also includes a number of portraits.

The collection consists of photographs which were originally presented with the report, "Evaluation of Municipal Services at Dawson and Old Crow, Yukon Territory". The photographs include views of Dawson and Old Crow sewer lines, waste disposal sites, drainage problems and disposal systems, as well as buildings and street scenes.

Florence Taylor collection

The collection consists of a 22 page handwritten speech by Florence Taylor ca. 1976. Entitled "The Yukon Territory" the speech describes life in Yukon as well as family anecdotes. The collection also consists of poems written by Sarah Drury Taylor, Florence's mother. The collection, "The Lure of the Northland: Poems of the Yukon and Alaska" was published by Wrigley Printing in Vancouver in 1955. The collection also consists of a letter written by Olive Chandler about the women in the Taylor family.

Florence Whyard fonds

The fonds consists of records created and accumulated by Florence Whyard in her many and varied activities in the Yukon. The fonds has been divided into these series: Member of the Legislative Assembly; Yukon and Alaska Visitors Associations; Whitehorse Chamber of Commerce; Yukon Sourdough Rendezvous Committee; Northern Vision Packers Company; Alaska Northwest Publishing Company; Historical Research; and a Business Card collection. Accession 93/94 (3/15/6) is in process and consists of correspondence, notes, publications, brochures, and newspaper clippings related to Yukon elections, Erik Nielsen, government development, mining, celebrations, and other Yukon issues.
