The fonds consists of 23 original b&w photographs which deal primarily with the building of the airport runway in Watson Lake, Yukon in 1942. Images include the runway under construction, the radio shack, a U.S. Army road crew, a float plane on Watson Lake, and an Army camp on the shore of the lake.

The fonds consists of photographs of the Berton family, their home in Dawson City, Yukon, camping and fishing on an island in a river, Laura and Frank with the children in winter, and Laura posing with their dog. The fonds also includes a taped interview of Pierre and Lucy discussing childhood activities in Dawson City and the content of the photographs with Linda Johnson of the Yukon Archives. The interview took place in Dawson City, Yukon on August 15, 1996 during the Discovery Day Celebrations and the Grand Opening of the Berton House, a writer-in-residence location.

The fonds consists of six films taken by Harry McConachie. The first three films capture a driving trip by four people in a Packard along the Alaska Highway (1942). Scenes include stops of interest, people, and communities from Fort St. John to Whitehorse and return. Many of the buildings in downtown Whitehorse and the shipyards are depicted. The remaining films (ca. 1939-1942) possibly document flights along the Yukon Southern Air Transport route (Whitehorse, Fort St. John, Peace River, Prince George, Dawson Creek, and Vancouver). Much of the film was taken from the air while flying in a Barkley Grow. The majority of locations are not positively identified except for scenes of Watson Lake, Whitehorse and Lake Laberge. Identified individuals include Grant McConachie, Sheldon Locke and Stan Emory or Harvey Johnson.

The fonds consists of original photographs taken by Tom Crawford while he was stationed in Alaska and the Yukon during World War II. The majority of photographs were taken in Skagway and Whitehorse. Skagway scenes include mountain views, streets and buildings, and the docks. Whitehorse scenes include views of buildings downtown, the White Pass and Yukon Route (WP&YR) trains and depot, a First Nations graveyard, the Old Log Church, Northwest Service Command headquarters, Standard Oil Refinery, Miles Canyon, the airport, and Alaska Highway construction camp 232 north of town.

The fonds consists of 14 copy negatives and prints depicting daily life at the Beloud farm at Dezadeash Lake and at the claim of Bunn Beloud at Victoria Creek. Scenes include prospecting, farming, Pete the bear, transporting supplies, Dezadeash Lodge, and members of the Beloud family.

The fonds consists of video copies of home movies, copy prints from b&w slides, and digital images scanned from colour slides. The movies (accession 91/20) were taken by Bud and Thelma Harbottle in the 1940s and include scenes of a downhill ski race and ski jumping, Whitehorse Winter Carnival, parades, children's birthdays, a family picnic in Atlin, mining in Atlin, the Alaska Highway and related ceremonies, Klukshu Village, Kathleen Lake, and visiting with Thelma's sister Dagne in Prince Rupert. The 12 photographs (accession 91/20) depict mostly Klondike Gold Rush scenes, 1898-1904. Included are images of tents in Dawson City, a view of the Whitehorse waterfront with wharves and sternwheelers, Canyon City, stampeders on the Fifty Mile River, mining, and the White Pass Trail. There is also a photograph of a cold thermometer reading at Mayo, Yukon 1947. The colour digital photographs (accession 2006/125) were created or collected by the Harbottles and include images of airplanes, aerial views of the Yukon, a hangar at the Whitehorse airport, hunters with their trophies, the Takhini Hot Springs, a sternwheeler on the Yukon River, the Old Log Church in Whitehorse, a helicopter on the South Canol Road, a rodeo at Champagne, the Nahanni Falls, dignitaries and Prince Philip at Whitehorse High School, and family and friends.

The fonds consists of two copies of "John Hislop's Diary December 17, 1898-February 19, 1901". One is a photocopy of the original handwritten diary and the other is a photocopy of the typewritten transcription of the original. Hislop writes about his daily activities including the progress of the rail line construction, his trips along the route, the Wagon Road Trial, a strike by the employees, the weather, people he encounters, and visits to Ontario and Illinois. George Hislop transcribed the diary in 2000 and added a page of names and terms.

The fonds consists of a photocopy and a typed transcript of a Tagish North West Mounted Police (NWMP) Post diary kept by Superintendent Zachary Taylor Wood, dated 24 September 1898 to 12 January 1899. Wood writes about the weather, arrival and departure of sternwheelers, and the activities of his men including building new structures at the post, constructing furniture, travelling to Dawson City, Yukon with the mail, and investigating crimes. The diary was transcribed by Helene Dobrowolsky.

The fonds consists of a transcript of diaries handwritten by John L. Heron as he travelled from North Dakota to the Yukon via the overland route. His diary describes his journey through Alberta, the Northwest Territories and into the Yukon. He writes about prospecting, mining on Sayyea Creek and in the Frances Lake area, transportation, hunting and people he encounters during his travels around Yukon, British Columbia and Alaska. The transcript includes one map with dates and locations, and copies of photographs which were added by Colonel J.M. Gibson.

The fonds consists of a copy of a manuscript written by Blanche W. Bowers, "The Life of Henry Clay Bowers". The manuscript follows Bowers' early life, the trip to the Klondike and his three-year struggle to find gold in the Yukon, and his return to Seattle. The bulk of the manuscript is about Bowers' journey along the coast to St. Michael, his trip up the Yukon River to Dawson City, and his work in the Klondike Gold Fields. Included are copies of a map of his route and photographs of his family.
