The Alfred Richardson fonds consists of a variety of certificates and letters concerning notification of military honours. The first two items are certificates of honour for outstanding service in the campaign in North West Europe during WWII from a Field Marshal and Secretary of State for War. The remaining items are letters concerning awards and medals for Richardson’s actions from various government departments including the United States Embassy, and a write up on what Richardson did to deserve these medals and awards.

All aspects of the Gallery’s activities are represented in the records, which are primarily textual, but include some photographs and reproductions (University Prints). Some of the records were created under the directorship of T.W.B. London and Gerald H. Tyler. This was the order in which the records were found in 1996.

The sous-fonds consists of the following series: general correspondence, exhibitions, finances, membership, personnel; visit and receptions, acquisitions and sales (sales and purchases of works of art); boards and committees; building and maintenance; associations; and education.

On June 16, 1924 the first meeting was held to discuss the building of a school that would be situated on either side of the valley. Many meetings were held, and in June, 1926 the school was built halfway up the bank on the north side of the valley. The school stood as a landmark until 1966 when it was destroyed by fire. The last teacher was Edward Sawchuk.
